not sure why i became attracted to this mixology medium but i made several mixtapes over the last months, oftentimes distributed by physical copies and given to particular people directly to materialize my presence to them and to shun the digital void. this mixtape is one of several so more might follow depending on whether i find them relevant enough to add to the data pile. a significant number of pieces within these mix’s i consider as ‘local music’ meaning that they came from an environment/community/secret society i find myself part of. other pieces are either present i.e from a contemporary timeframe, and one or two simply have a somewhat “present presence” in my own personal listening habits (Scene 1997). there’s a narrative of experimental electronic aesthetics and rap since i believe those to be very (socio-)culturally relevant musics at the moment. i think that’s about it. i hope there’s something there. hmm
