For the fourth episode of Kitchen Broadcast, we had lunch with Bojana Cvejic and Yazan Khalil and took the time to talk and exchange ideas about the infrastructural conditions and ways of hosting, (under)commoning and insituting otherwise, starting from both their practices in setting up different spaces and places.

Bojana Cvejić is on of the co-founders, together with Jan Ritsema and still an active member of PAF (Performing Arts Platform)a residency in a small villange St Erme in France close to the Belgian border. She is also, among many other things, active in TkH (Walking Theory platform) an independent, institutionally non-aligned, extra-academic platform for performing theoretical-artistic activism.

Yazan Khalili engaged in the transformation of Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in between 2015 and 2019 in Ramallah, Palestine, and continued his reflections on processes of instituting through different projects, among many other things, the QAF or the Question of Funding and Aka, a space hosting a decentralized network of self-organizing and grassroots collectives in Kassel.

Kitchen Broadcast is an ongoing online conversation that proposes to listen to different voices, different rhythms and different sounds, reflecting on present situations that intersect in Brussels, composed by Joachim Ben Yakoub and Reem Shilleh. 

It is produced with the kind support of Kaaitheater, a stage for dance, theater, performance, music and debate in Brussels.

Picture that nice smile, by Joe Marner is his most recent radio mix for connecting the dots, a radio station based out of Dublin/Berlin. Joe used objects around his house to create sonic environments, and merged these sounds over the sound of old videos on youtube. The mix is for you to feel, to think, to listen and to enjoy.
Joe will be playing at our first ‘Kino for your ears’ event in the Ventilator Cinema (2nd floor OT301) on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Drugi odcinek audycji promocyjnej dla Koncertu (z) nagrań terenowych, który odbędzie się w krakowskiej Spółdzielni Ogniwo 29 marca 2025 o godzinie 20:00.
Tak jak poprzedni odcinek traktował field recording, skupiając się na członie „field”, czyli zawierał nagrania koncertowe i przestrzenne, tak ten odcinek będzie bardziej skupiał się na „recording”, a konkretnej na intymności nagrania.

Pierwsza część miksu jest oniryczno-osobista, dzięki nagraniom Małgorzaty Goliszewskiej, Alicji Czyczel, ale też (występujących na nadchodzącym wydarzeniu) Anny Soleckiej i Anny Nacher. Następnie trochę retrospektywnie w kontekście pierwszego koncertu (z) nagrań terenowych posłuchamy Michała Wiśniowskiego i jego ptasiego nagrania ze Sri Lanki, aby później dać głos Gawronom Macieja Wirmańskiego. Audycje zakończymy w sposób bardziej konwencjonalnie muzyczny, ale to niech już będzie niespodzianką!

As Serious As Your Life is an innovative curatorial project undertaken by Suoni Per Il Popolo and the Howl! Arts Collective. It takes the form of 3 performance installations, two that will debut at the 2016 Suoni Festival and one that will be presented in fall 2016. Each work explores the use of sound and sound technology as means by which individuals and groups are subdued and controlled. More broadly, it interrogates sound and sound technology as tools of state repression.

Sérieux comme la vie est un projet commissarial innovateur entrepris par Suoni Per Il Popolo et le collectif d’artistes Howl!. L’initiative consistera en trois installations performatives dont deux feront leur début à l’édition 2016 du festival Suoni. Chacune de ces œuvres se voudra alors d’explorer l’usage du son et de la technologie sonore comme moyens par lesquels les individus et les groupes sont subjugués et contrôlés. De manière plus générale, il s’agira de remettre en question le son ainsi que la technologie qu’il implique et de les réfléchir en leur qualité d’outils de répression mobilisés par l’État.
