Eric Leonardis - Burning Down (Bobby Lava Remix)

For Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber, the idea of rebirth is a creative driving force – an artistic device which not only informs their work, but anchors it.
As the avant-garde electronic group Tosca, the two artists have lived many musical lives, from their early electronic experiments with tape decks to the blissed-out dub compositions with which they have made their name.

Their most recent album, OSAM, takes this idea of renewal even further. Now they have reworked the source material from their ninth record and selected some of their friends to help make MIRAGE: The OSAM Remixes.

They connect with previous long term remix collaborators such as Brendon Moeller, Balint Dobozi, D’al Senio, Oberst + Buchner, Sam IRL, Domenico Ferrari and Cay Talan for an array of remixes which lead to transcendence on the dance floor with piano rises, dubbed out moments and ambient forays. Tosca also sprinkle some of their own magic on this album with their own reworks and reinterpretations.

Phuturegroove Records was opened by Sean McCann in Belfast in the late 90s, with a teenage Timmy Stewart invited to become a house & techno buyer at the store. The two then supplied great US house, disco and techno records to most of cities DJs during the store's time.

Fast forward two decades later and Timmy & Sean have teamed up with fashion industry producer & casting director Julius Poole. A move to NYC in the ‘80’s saw Julius discover a city alive with incredible night life, not to mention soundtracked with house music from some of the world’s best DJs. Julius’s vocals on both New York Story & Unified recount a few of those late night adventures.

Next generation Irish artist Sean Den takes New York Story for a cruise down the M1, with a deeper grove, that comes over like a lost Junior Boys Own jam at the Sound Factory.

Valencia based Bedlam Belfast resident Ramie Burns, jacks and contorts Unified onto a darker, red lit, basement dance-floor!

We like to file these under hot, sweat, strobe light music!

That in this occasion they come hitting hard with the excellent team of reworkers under their criteria worthy of being able to work with these beautiful parts that the band contributes at the time of composing in the study, a sound, clean elegant and with many desire to explode.

Remixes of the meister old school Javi Golo aka JG Outsider, who with his great dynamics puts the track in a position of forcefulness and depth very personal.

Pastor in Vegas enters dark territories, a very complex groove proceeds to an elegant construction of elements very well sequenced and with a very personal point of view.

And the one already known by the band is Jose Rodriguez, and this great composer stands out with whatever style he wants to compose at the time, this time an elegant and hypnotic techno, well built, forceful and fluid.

Inner Shah goes House as Miguel Chafirovitch makes his debut with Primavera EP, exploring a groovy take on the genre through analog basslines and energetic drum machines.

The pack, coming out on April 5th, brings two classy tracks aimed at the afterhours: "Primavera" (coming with an instrumental and vocal version) and "Call to 303", a lofi-ish take on the most-famous acid synth, a refreshing B-side. While Call to 303 explores a more hypnotic groove, with an airy synth, Primavera comes as a perfect closer for an eclectic set.
