Postmodern Jukebox - Careless Whisper (smyb Electroswing Remix)

Billed as “An Alternate History of Pop Music”, the great Scott Bradlee leads the Postmodern Jukebox, a collective that creates great reinterpretations of current Pop songs, bridging different genres, orchestrations and eras with ours. As a Jazz composer/arranger/pianist originally before I got into loud obnoxious dance music, I obviously just can’t enough of their videos! They are currently on their Eviction Tour in the USA so please check out the links below.

This is a simple Re-edit I cooked up of their cover of “Maps” by Maroon 5 featuring Morgan James. I sped up the tempo and added some percussion for a sexy, NY Garage/Diva inspired House track.

This single is the first release off a new album called 和平之道 He Ping Zhi Dao which means The Way of Peace. I've had a pretty rocky career and life in the music business before moving to Asia and had a lot of ups and downs, was very rough around the edges and created a lot of disharmony in my life at times. Changing the world begins with changing yourself. When you create peace within yourself you can extend that to your home, your neighbourhood, your community and your whole world. 

The philosophy is simple: wake up every day day trying to leave your environment, the people and creatures and places around you a little better than you found them. Be mindful of the products you consume and the pollution you create. Minimize it. Choose paper or cloth over plastic. Go for less packaging. Buy a sandwich or a hot dog for a hungry looking person or stray dog you run into on the way home. Smile at strangers, help an old lady get her cart on or off the bus. A million examples but the idea is easy: don't be a dick.
