Neurothmic Cadence [disquiet0572]

[disquiet0572] Random Walx

This track was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0572 (details see below): Make a beat that someone else will add to.

I dedided to create a beat mainly based on the sounds of nature - especially all that can be heard in the forest. The forest rhythm is accompanied by some percussive piano sounds and dark ambiances - to enhance the magic of the forest and all it can give to the attentive visitor.

Disquiet Junto Project 0572: Rhythm Kit
The Assignment: Make a beat that someone else will add to.

Note: This project is the first of a two-parter. You don’t need to participate in both, and you can easily participate in the second one (next week) even if you don’t participate in the first one.

Instruction: Record a beat with the intension that someone other than yourself will add something to it at a later date. It’s preferable that you record something that lasts between one and three minutes, but it’s also fine to record something shorter with the intention that someone will loop it — or something longer, for that matter.

Rock the bells - disquiet0572

It's not advisable to let your teeth get dirty.

All sounds generated with VCV Rack. The main theme is a percussive voice and chaotic FM sounds clocked by the same steady pulse. Additional sounds were made using a different chaotic patch.

disquiet0572 Keep Your Teeth Clean

This week's Disquiet Junto has us making a drum track which other people will add to next week.  I basically just made a beat and then created different glitchy versions of it (mainly using Infiltrator).  Then I got to micro-editing the glitchy stuff into the main beat and trying to create some semblance of song structure.  I didn't want to go into full hyperglitch mode because that would not leave much room for additions, so I held back a bit.  At the end, I just looped a version of the beat for a while so people can jam and then fade the track out when they want.

It felt like there was space to do free playing and scary sounds with the really full and luscious beat loop (https://soundcloud.com/triermusic/because-seven-point-five-v2) provided by @triermusic. I added a couple of basses and a string sound aiming for as dissonant as possible. Enjoyed doing this.
