Upon learning that Adele wrote, “Hello”, as a letter to herself in the past, I was fascinated by the concept and thus wrote “Broken Bones” as a letter to myself when I was on Warped Tour 2008 and really struggling. We came up with the synth in the studio and I wrote the beats and lyrics on the spot. It’s about everything I was going through as a 20 year old kid while looping the country in a 15 passenger van for months at a time and playing monstrous festivals every day. The fear, the doubt, the breakup, the first panic attack, the feeling of total isolation in a sea of people. The lyrics are everything I would’ve needed to hear at the time: That I’d make it through, that I’d be okay, that I’d grow from the experience, and that amazing things were just around the corner.

Timberlake Road is the street I’ve lived on since the pandemic.  Stuck in somewhat of a bunker of a basement I find myself often staring out at it in isolation.  I wrote it as a way of keeping things light and pushing forward through a hard time.  Even in isolation we all need a sense of togetherness.

Indie Electronica song akin to The 1975, The Band Camino, & Hippo Campus.  I wrote Miss Cacophony during quarantine as it was a turning point for me in taking many important actions in my life that I had been putting off.  The song is about using our limited time on this planet to do something meaningful to ourselves and in turn, contribute something greater to the world. I did this through the lens of a coming of age/ romance story.  Enjoy!

The pop punk trio Free Friends, consisting of husband and wife Ben and Lauren DeHan along with drummer Gil Perez, have crafted the most jaw-dropping set of songs to hit the pop punk scene in years. Collaborating with Matt Malpass (blink-182, Magnolia Park), Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco), and Sam Pura (State Champs), the group has created a unique sound that falls somewhere between blink-182 and Neck Deep, accompanied by cello.
