Our first DnB event back from the lockdown and it was a crazy one with the Flexout Family. 

Workforce showcased why he is one of the best and delivered a mix we had to show everyone who didn't come to one euphoric party. Codebreaker MC was on the mic showcasing that he is one the best in the game.

We’re very excited to revive our FFS Live series with the 2 hour dream of a set that @redfreya and @rebeccagough brought us last Saturday at Studio 338 for the legendary @JohnDigweed’s @Bedrock Records.

“This set was really special for us, as to be asked to play for a label like Bedrock this early in our careers is always going to be a big deal! It brings our typical blend of melody and groove - the Studio 338 terrace is such an inspiring place to play anyways with the afternoon sun streaming through the glass roof, and the room gradually filled up as people arrived so the tracks build up in energy level throughout the mix. SINE Live: Shadows release mix

For the second set in the „first timer“ series we go all the way back to almost the beginning. While we had a small local party at Isuledda in 2003, the first official sunandbass edition happened in 2004. Our goal was to have an international crowd of artists and drum & bass lovers, and Chris joined us together with Suzie and SKC plus his partner. They drove all the way from Hungary and spent the whole week with us, embracing the idea of having a holiday together. Since then Chris has been a regular artist on our line up and become part of the SUNANDBASS family. He is also one of those artists that always bring their  family. First it was just Suzie and him, then they added a little junglette. If I’m not mistaken he only missed one year when his daughter was born. 

The set has been recorded at Ripping (back then it was called Pa-Ki-Ki, but only for that one year). It has been included on the SUNANDBASS 2004 DVD, that was produced by MZAM and his Zoon Designs crew. When listening back I realized Chris anticipated a couple of SUNANDBASS classics that have been played ever since. Sit back and travel back to the early days of our beloved SUNANDBASS.

The fourth edition of our „first timer“ comes with a heavy heart. Gio aka Alite curated her first night in 2014 and invited him as her guest, the mighty Spirit. Such a humble guy, you’d never immagine the raw energy he’d express with his music and his DJ sets.   

Veni, vidi, vici - I think this summarizes his first appearance at Ambra Night. It had already been a week packed of many highlights. On the outdoor floor we just had LSB, Calibre and Marcus Intalex all in a row. Then somehow we all got magically drawn to the Indoor floor where Spirit just started the last set of the night. There was a such a high level of energy in the room, I remember us all looking at each other in a mix of euphoria and disbelief - how can this even go any better?! And he managed to draw one bomb after another in his distinct style, climaxing his way through that last power hour of the night. It was absolutely T for Tremendous to quote our good old friend MC GQ. Speaking of MCs, Blackeye and Double O where the perfect match for this set, and Blackeye became his MC of choice over the years. 

Spirit then joined us every year, he instantly became a part of the SUNANDBASS family. We truly miss him, he lives on in our hearts through his music.

Continuing on with our FFS Live series, we bring you a recording from our after-party Metalheadz show at the Steel Yard, celebrating the 25th birthday of the label. It was a very memorable day for our team with lots of high emotions and full of energy that will we never forget, with this SCAR mix very much in the thick of it.
