Moving Time

The words are traditional - Adirondack poet Jeanne Robert Foster heard her dad and uncles singing them and she put them in her book of poems Neighbors of Yesterday; and I wrote the tune.  The mix features (in order): Dan Berggren; Jeff Warner; Jeff Davis; the trio of Dan Berggren, John Kirk and Chris Shaw; and Tim O'Brien.

On 9th Dec 1980, the day John  Lennon's death was made public Paul Brady and his band played The Sportsmans Inn in Dublin. The band was Paul Brady acoustic guitar and vocal, Fran Breen drums, Jimmy Faulkner electric guitar, Artie McGlynn pedal steel, Tommy Moore bass and James Delaney piano.

... I had the honor of spending several weeks with Levon Helm (and the rest of The Band) as tour manager & opening act on their 1994 European Tour. It was a time that I'll never forget, as I will never forget Levon - the conversations we had, the kind man he was, the fine music he made, and the deep impact he unknowingly made on my life.

I'm playing my Yamaha FG180 acoustic guitar, A Gibson SG electric guitar, an ARP Odyssey synth for bass and whiney background synth and I'm banging a box for percussion.
