From the slavering bass-carnivore ‘Slammer,’ to the purple-rain phunk of “Push Up”, and from the off-wall vocals of Reprazent home-girl Onnalee on “Get a Life” to the break-neck toasting of dapper-one Million Dan, “Raw as F**k” plays an exhilarating game of genre hop-scotch. Pressure Point updates the Freestylers' sound for 2002. As the follow-up to the band's influential debut We Rock Hard, which sold more than 150,000 copies in the U.S. alone and saw the group repeatedly tour the States with a 10-piece band, Pressure Point successfully mines two decades of hip-hop and dance music for hip-shaking rhythms and deep, emotion-baring soul. "We didn't want to make a We Rock Hard Pt. 2," says Aston. "Being DJ/producers we're influenced by the music that's happening, especially with dance music because it moves so quickly in England. We wanted to do something in our own distinct style so we used influences that we had hints of on the first album but made it harder and clubbier, and used the [early rave] influences from 1989-91."

Pressure Point's cohesive cross-genre pollination indeed makes it one of the year's best dance albums. "Get Down Massive" kicks in with two-step rhythms and hyper-speed breaks as Navigator's chatty vocals get the party started right. Reminiscent of Shaggy and Fatboy Slim hanging together on the Ibiza beach, "Weekend Song," the album's first single, is funky pop gone dancehall courtesy of Tenor Fly. "Now Is the Time"'s deep electro and potent sub-bass further demonstrates the Freestylers' versatility--deep, party-rockin', soulful and pop savvy at once. The energetic, "Blowin Ya Brainz," with its old-school rave vibe and block-rockin' beats, gives Prodigy a run for its money. And the addition of vocalists Valerie M (on the soulful groover "Calling") and Petra Jean Philipson (on the soul-rock "Told You So") complement the album's all-over-the-map musical panache. Producer/singer Spanna Banner also brings more dancehall flavor to the mix, toasting on "Signs," the album's reggae finale.

After a 25 year career the Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the Bass Music genre, having played all the biggest festivals, the most talked about Nightclubs around the World and even the quintessentially British music show, Top Of The Pops.  Having achieved the kind of success most artists can only dream of, they’ve not rested on their laurels. 

Aston and Matt started working on Music together in the mid ‘90’s after discovering a mutual love of Hip-Hop, Electro and Beats. They released their first two Albums ‘We Rock Hard’ and ‘Pressure Point’ on legendary Breakbeat label Freskanova.  ’Raw as F**K” and ‘Adventures In Freestyle” were released on ‘Against The Grain” another Breaks Power House based out of Brighton,UK.  From being voted ‘Best Band’ by Muzik Magazine in ’98, to touring with Lenny Kravitz on his American Woman Tour (he asked them himself as he was so impressed with their act), rocking a crowd of 30,000 at Glastonbury Festival ’99, performing at MTV’s Times Square Millennium Party,playing Big Day Out ’05  – it’s fair to say these Guys have had one big Adventure so far.

The Freestylers began their career as an Urban Electronic Music Act, and their early Tunes ‘B-Boy Stance,’’ ‘Ruffneck’ and ‘Warning’ set the marker. As their Music progressed so did their Anthems with the seminal tunes ‘Punks’, ‘Boom Blast’, ‘Fasten YourSeat-Belts’,’Painkiller” and more recently ‘Cracks.’to list a few.In addition to their status as Underground Heroes, they have gained commercial success with their Global Hit ‘Push Up’ and have had their Music synched in many TV Commercials and Films ,including the hugely successful Comedies,Zoolander,Hey Dude Where’s My Car and the more recent Sisters

Their ever eclectic style and renegade approach to production focuses on everything in the Bass Music Spectrum from Breakbeats to Jungle to Bassline House,the Freestylers are here to stay and are definitely  rocking even harder.
