Dreamland is the new feel-good anthem from the undisputed heavyweights of breaks, the Plump DJs. Ravers with a keen ear will recognize the vocal sample from the early days of drum n bass, although this 2022 rework delivers an entirely new spin.   

Over the past few months we have witnessed epic scenes of the Plump DJs playing sold-out shows including Stanton Sessions and their BreakOut tour in Australia - and the unanimous top tune of these nights? Dreamland.

"This is hands down the stand-out track in my set right now" says Krafty Kuts who quickly signed Dreamland to his Against The Grain label.

The release features a jaw-dropping suite of remixes including Pirate Jams who deliver a euphoric hardcore crowd-pleaser for the ravers, while heavyweight drum n bass producer Erb N Dub, whose recent tracks hit number 2 and 8 in the Beatport DNB chart, delivers a rework so dirty it should probably come with a health warning. Newcomers Dirty Supercar flip the script with a summery disco-house rework ensuring this release has something for everyone.

Plump DJs 'Dreamland'

Since his debut on Sound of Habib in 2012 Blanilla has gone from strength to strength, building his reputation internationally, remixing Ils for Distinct'ive and DJing with Stanton Warriors among other things. From his studio in Cluj, Romania, his new single Apply the bass is a bumpy number with San Fransisco's own Kidd Linus sharing the mic with Sara Taigher from Rome. The package is completed by a remix courtesey of Germany's D-fact. Truly an international affair!

I was asked to write a track recently for the ‘Pretty Shady’ campaign in Australia in an effort to help raise awareness for the dangers of skin cancer. The track itself is a celebration of the sunshine but at the same time (via Andrea Kiriwin’s lyrics) it’s also about the dangers of the sun and not protecting yourself from it (‘we love the sunshine but it’s the reason we burn…’). The vibe of the tune is summery and ravey with a solid 90’s breakbeat feel (no doubt heavily influenced by my new Original Rude Boy side project! https://soundcloud.com/original-rude-boy-146533804). I’m also working on a more upfront club mix at the moment which is going to be a lot of fun plus we are running a remix comp. Stay tuned! KK x

Sunshine - Kid Kenobi feat. Andrea Kirwin ***FREE DOWNLOAD***

iBreaks returns from the summer heat, heading into the cold of Autumn but we’re warming you up with a 4-track EP of pure fire from Estonian breaks head Sunsha.

“Boiler” sets the pace with a pulsing bassline underneath crunchy rolling beats whilst the rising stabs give this one a mid-set vibe.

Sunsha takes a harder edge on “Reverence” with a gritty electronic synth line and low as you can go sub bass.  The main riff takes things more musical in the breakdown, but this one is definitely for the dirtier dance floors.

The bassline drives “Rogue Cocktail” over a more plodding beat while swirls and whooshes bring an series atmosphere overhead.  Vocal snippets and staccato synths elevate the track throughout but it’s the throb of the bassline that is the star here.

“Fat Beats” round things off in style, and stays true to it’s name.  The beats are indeed fat as you like, while the meat lies within the impressive call and answer “in your face” dirty stabs and lead lines.  It’s verging on evil, but with plenty of rounded edges to make this one a peak time banger!

The Freestylers: 28 Years of Bass, Beats & Global Anthems

With a career spanning nearly three decades, the Freestylers—Aston Harvey and Matt Cantor—have made their mark on the electronic dance music scene. From playing the world’s biggest festivals and clubs to appearing on Top of the Pops, they’ve remained at the forefront of the genre without ever standing still.

Origins & Breakthrough

Aston Harvey began as an engineer and producer, working with Rebel MC / Congo Natty and co-producing the jungle classic Spiritual Aura with DJ Rap. Matt Cantor, meanwhile, was part of Strike, co-producing the dance hit U Sure Do. The two met at Fresh Records, bonding over their love of hip-hop, electro, and breakbeats, leading to the birth of the Freestylers.

Their debut album brought them international success, with hits like B-Boy Stance and Ruffneck landing in the UK, Dutch, and German Top 20. A major US record deal followed, leading to a spot on Lenny Kravitz’s American Woman tour and a legendary Glastonbury 1999 performance.

Global Hits & Reinvention

Over the years, they’ve released a string of anthems, from Push Up, a #1 hit in Australia, Holland, and Belgium, to Cracks, which became a dubstep classic with 80+ million streams. They’ve also collaborated with Pendulum and held festival residencies worldwide.

In 2025, they’re set to release their seventh studio album, Enter the Sound—a collaboration with Dub Pistols featuring reggae legends like General Levy and Tippa Irie. With a packed schedule of festivals, remixes, and new music, the Freestylers are still going strong. In the words of LL Cool J: “Don’t call it a comeback—they’ve been here for years!”
