Even the all-time party goers can lose their sparkle in these cruel and quarantined times by getting stuck at home for too long. But for one of Moscow's finest DJ-crews it’s hasn’t been the case. 

The fourth vinyl instalment on the label’s roster is a hard bumping debut EP from the UK-born/Swedish-based musician - Lewis. He has brought a bunch of analogue equipment and just the right moves to produce this dance floor ready 4-tracker, seasoned with classy electro and of course just a drop of acid straight from the 90-s. “snapout”, a Tokyo-based party crew of DJs and Producers, will launch a record label in early 2022.

“snapout” members include veteran DJ yama', who has been DJing since 1998, Takashi Himeoka, who has been making tracks since 2014 and has released on “Phreak” and “Cabaret Recordings” labels, Hisashi, who has played at several regular parties in Tokyo and contributed a track to “How High” label at the end of 2021, and Riku Sugimoto.

For the first single, Riku Sugimoto has created three tracks based on the atmosphere of “snapout”, adopt the essence of Detroit/Dutch techno and Chicago/UK house from the early 90s and early 00s.

What he did describe in great detail was the first time he saw her. “Pieces of a smile dancing with the reflections of a passing ship,” he said, deciding to hold on to that moment for as long as he could. He’s done this before. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn’t, reluctantly joining everything in a slow and somber march towards nothing. He said, “I don’t know how long it’s been.” I still don’t believe him. I think he’s just getting used to his new life. I think he’s just getting used to dating in space.

Pursuing their duty to bring new melodies from outer space back to our planet, Shin’uchū’s third satellite Shinsei finally lifts-off into orbit. To complete this mission, the astronaut Man/ipulate shares six various interpretations of his deeply-rooted discoveries on his mission to the outer spheres of the Milky Way. ‘Shinsei’ – meaning new birth – immerses the mind in a slow and distant mantra progressing onto an unexpected atomic explosion, kicking off the EP with a bang. Next comes ‘Do It’, a high energy upbeat bass-filled retro groove taking us back to the future, followed by ‘Sex Is Fun’, a true obscure warehouse rave essential.

On the flipside, ‘Science Function’ brings out the best flavours of house, with a hint of the unknown driven by an extra-terrestrial aura. ‘Insidynamic’ appears next, adding an electrifying collusion to the piece – a truly enchanting symphony perfectly balanced between light and dark. Completing the release is ’22 Tensions’, a total must have closing track filled with a nostalgic twist of landing back on Earth after a memorable space-filled experience, marking the success of Shinsei’s operation in the outer spheres.
