Back in November 2013 I was honoured to be asked to DJ at the wedding of 2 of my best friends, at the idyllic setting of Cola Beach in Goa.  Unfortunately the set didn't get recorded on the night, but I recently mixed the playlist as a present for them and thought I would share it online.  They're far from your average couple and this is far from your average wedding set; when they requested Sha-Lor - I'm in Love for their first dance I knew I was on to a winner! Every track was lovingly selected for it's meaning or because it holds a poignant memory.  A very special mix for 2 very special people.....  LOVE is the message X

Throwing Shapes 6th of Feb 2019 - Frenchy Solo Show

Anyone who knows me knows what a huge influence Mint Club has been to me; I cut my teeth there going every single night week in week out during my 20's for BACK TO BASICS, as well as running my own night there for a couple of years, not to mention playing more after parties than I can remember.... it's safe to say without Mint Club I wouldn't have met a good portion of my very best mates, maybe wouldn't have got a Basics residency, and my social and music life would have taken an entirely different trajectory.... I've got A LOT of love for that club! So I was over the moon to be asked to play their closing party weekend alongside Derrick Carter, Inland Knights, Ralph Lawson, Tristan Da Cunha, Jay Kilka and Dave Moorey, and what a party it was!!!  One of my very favourite nights at Mint Club (and that's really saying something!), it couldn't have been a better send off!  

Here's the recording of my warm up set on the night.  It's a bit rough in places but it's all live & in the moment so f**k it!  I absolutely LOVE that you can hear the crowd on it all the way through - it gives you a bit of an idea of the atmosphere on the night - one I'm not going to forget in a hurry!  Gone but never forgotten!  ❤️

Very pleased to have got my set back from Gottwood Festival 2019  :-)  This year was an extra special event with it being Gottwood's tenth bday, and it turned out to be a gig to match the occasion; the rain worked in my favour and Ricky's Disco was rammed and going off from the first track..... definitely my favourite time playing there to date! BIG thanks to Tom and the crew for having me as always, such a magic festival, it's an honour to be a part of it ❤️

Frenchy Ripe Radio Guest Mix October 2020

I was recently re-introuced to a long lost old recording of me warming up for Hector at Basics @ The Peephouse back in 2009 (Cheers Jonny!), and I thought seen as it's their 29th birthday this weekend it would be a fitting time to upload it for a bit of a trip down memory lane 🙂 Originally released as a shorter mix for Back To Basics Podcast 001, this is the full recording and goes through the transition from empty club to completely rammed and going off in proper Basics fashion! I always loved being able to kick off really deep/indulgent, and pick the pace up gradually as the club got busier. I had some of my favourite ever gigs at The Peephouse, there was nowhere else quite like it! 

Hopefully this will be a nice blast from the past for people anyway and bring back some memories of that era.  Very special times indeed! ❤️

Frenchy keeps busy on the underground house scene with residencies at the legendary Back to Basics in Leeds, Body MVMT in London and Beatnick Collective in Manchester, as well as being a regular at Gottwood Festival. He is an avid vinyl collector for over 25yrs and ran The Garage nightclub which won the coveted DJ Mag small club of the year award and Waxwerks Records in Leeds, so safe to say he has a few hidden gems up his sleeve. With a very broad taste he likes to cross styles when he DJ’s and is equally as at home playing a 6am after hours as he is smashing out a main slot, disco under his Disco Till I Die guise, or a poolside balearic set at one of his regular gigs in Ibiza.
