Das Projekt "RIZA" sollte eine Brücke zwischen traditionellem griechischen Liedgut und moderner elektronischer Musik schlagen. Um dies zu bewerkstelligen habe ich erst einmal eine teilweise geographisch, teilweise kulturspezifische Recherche betrieben, um auf besondere Momente griechischer Musiklandschaft zu stoßen. Meine Auswahl ist dabei auf folgende Lieder gefallen:

1. Domna Samiou - To Miroloi Tis Panagias (Das Klagelied der Maria, Mutter Jesu) / Osterlied
2. Domna Samiou - Lismono Kai Xairomai (Ich vergesse und freue mich) / Epirotisches Lied
3. Loudovikos Ton Anogeion - Unbekanntes Lied / Kreta
4. Domna Samiou - Ena Mouni Stin Kerasia (Pussy On A Cherry Tree) / Fastnachts-Lied

Somit folgen die Hörer einer Reise startend von orthodoxen Kirchengesängen, zu alten epirotischen Flüchtlingsgesängen, zu den Klängen der minoischen Kultur und letztendlich dem Gesang der sexuellen Freiheit und der Dämonenvertreibung griechischer alt-traditioneller Fastnacht.

Diese alten Traditionen habe ich in ein neues elektronisches Gewand gekleidet und hoffe damit den modernen Ohren eine alte, fast vergessene Wurzel wieder näher zu bringen.

Our ‘Sonorities’ travel slow, but they travel far. Organic and joyful sounds reminding of Latin America and of their native people are flanked on the one side by instruments and motives coming from the East, on the other side there are urban trippy rhythms. Ecstatic dancing beats travel alongside ethereal and mesmerizing melodies. Such diversity is not only meant to present the variety of sounds which these great artists can exhibit, but also to represent the diversities among human beings which are here united in one heterogeneous and harmonious complex, as it’s the world we envision - a whole symbiotical organism...

This is the first of a few free tracks I'm putting out there to sort of coincide with the run up to my next release with Loodma Recordings entitled 'Kokoro' which will be out in April as far as I'm aware so far :)

I tried to do something a little different with this track. I wanted to really delve into one big atmospheric soundscape, I think I've done that and I hope people enjoy this.
