Memórias de Oneyda was produced during the RMX residency held by São Paulo's public cultural center CCSP in celebration of the 85 years of the sound library Oneyda Alvarenga. All percussion, beats, harmonic layers used in the EP were extracted from the vast collection of the Discotheque - Most of the vocals were taken from the mission of folkloric research, idealized by Mario de Andrade in the ’30s. The track's sonorities were adapted to the texture and quality from the oldest recording - seeking for an intersection between contemporary sound and a 30’s acetate disc. As if it was an old recording from a parallel reality.

Argentine composer Kaleema debuts on Earthly Measures with a new EP, 'Velo', to be released on June 24th of this year. In its name it anticipates a concrete and expansive work that marks times of change in which we suspend ourselves for listening.

Velo, opens the album signifying a mutation, a movement inspired by a breakthrough as personal as it is musical that joins the poetry it offers us. Heidi Lewandowski returns to her training as a violinist and composes with fragments of dub sound, echoes, layers of percussion and remarkable string arrangements. The narrative contains the initiatory force to reinvent ourselves from within and to break through to the other side: if I resonate/break the veil.

The track Cántaro contains the dynamics that showcase their signature percussion-driven sound and we recognize Kaleema and their previous evolving works. With global influences from the electronic music she often collaborates with, she leads us over the nuances provided by her distinctive voice: light and hypnotic. The versatility of this producer in search of sounds ranging from electronic music to the most complex composition makes her production increasingly enriching.

The third cut, Eclipse, produced in the key of slow dance track gives a twist to the aesthetics of 'Velo' turning the EP into a varied production.

The album has two remixes, the first collaboration of Velo is made by the producer Chancha Vía Circuito who appears with his particular sound generating a pleasant counterpoint in the album and reminds us of the remarkable and harmonious artistic dialogue of these two artists. Towards the end the second collaboration in the hands of Ecuadorian producer and DJ Joaquín Cornejo puts us in front of a rhythmic piece loaded with organic groove.

'Velo' is composed with the strength of an artist who has not stopped these years maintaining constant tours in America & Europe and is about to begin a long series of concerts in México, Spain, Germany, Greece & Portugal, with this soundtrack that anticipates her performances.

"Train to Mac" is a vibrant journey through rhythm and melody, where driving house beats carry you forward while trance-inspired lines lift the track into a state of luminous motion. Lush, intricate percussion adds texture and depth, giving the rhythm a lively, organic pulse that keeps the energy flowing.
Beautiful synth lines weave in and out like glimpses of light through a moving landscape, combining warmth and euphoria with a sense of forward momentum. “Train to Mac” feels like a sonic journey — evocative, immersive, and endlessly moving — a track that transports the listener from the everyday into a vibrant, flowing soundscape.

For this our sixth Botanas single series we have the pleasure to present two stunning original tracks and one beautiful edit from Canadian producer Oonga (who you might have spotted on our Mare Insularum compilation). Oonga is a DJ/producer from Montreal who works with Stonetree Records. 

Opener El Caracol is one of the most personal tracks the artist has ever made. It is based on a poem written by Eli´s (Oonga) dad and dedicated to him. It was written after the two of them had a really deep conversation about hidden pain and then months later his dad showed him the words, and he was extremely moved and so created this beautiful track. 

This inspiration came at the same time as Oonga's exposure to the neo-folkloric slow cumbia tech sound while travelling. He put the two together and this special Botanas was born. His dear friend Ana adapted the words into Spanish and sang the melodies (as well as doing the art). 

Oonga´s music captured our ears right away and these three tracks are the perfect soundtrack to the end of the summer for those of us in the norther hemisphere or to welcome the end of the Winter and brighter times for all those down south!

In Asimétrico, El Remolón presents its new sounds. Native acoustics in organic electronic spaces, successful collaborations, instrumental passages, meditative trance and invitation to movement.

After several years of introspection and studio silence, El Remolón is back with a premiere album. Searching within, in chance haphazard and error, the unfinished or simply imperfect sounds , El Remolón elaborates another sonic horizon that requires putting aside already rehearsed formulas, highlighted labels, closed categories. In this inquiry, the artist even abandons his own ways and closed shapes in Asimétrico. An album that maintains the contagious force of its danceable rhythms and at times delves into a more introspective universe, linked to contemplation.

With folkloric elements in minimalist mode and careful organic electronics, Asimétrico delivers ten crisp pieces that feature Andrés Oddone's master touch in the mix. Simple uses of guitars, legüeros bass drums and charangos are interspersed in criollos ( southamerican folk) riffs that are reminiscent of Atahualpa and, when combined with electronic textures, they generate a restorative, meditative and techno atmosphere at the same time. Between the experimental native and the global downtempo, the album features several songs that follow one another as emotional passages. This is where Asimétrico is enriched with the collaborations of Luvi Torres / Klik & Frik, Pol Nada, Lauphan, Nuriah and the revelation of the urban coplero Brawlio. Meanwhile, the collaborations with San Ignacio, Leo Silcan and Cuervo Cuervo  go deep into a more electronic and instrumental facet. The cover and photos are made by @ancherama.
