PROTOTYPES Vol. 3 — a new wave of experiments from Paperfunk Recordings

The third-generation capsules are opening. Inside lies a fusion of ideas conceived within the walls of the Neuropunk Academy and tempered in the laboratories of rhythm. Under the bass microscope and within the sequencer grids, fresh forms of sound are being born — prototypes ready to break free from their blueprints and speak the language of the dancefloor.

Curated by Paperclip, Menfort (Gydra) and NERV3 — three seasoned architects of sound who have combined their experience and taste to guide the participants through every stage of track creation, from the very first ideas to fully armed club weapons.

On the flip, Diode shows his twisted sense of humor with Bouncing, a track that lures you in with a deceptively playful intro. Light, carnival-like melodies swirl with a mischievous energy, giving the illusion of fun and games. But as the tension builds, the mask slips and the real ride begins.

When the drop hits, all pretense is gone... Bouncing slams into a brutal, heavyweight groove. Massive drums drive the track forward, underpinned by cavernous sub bass that rattles the floor to its core. Fun, punchy bass stabs weave between the chaos, injecting an infectious bounce that keeps the energy playful, even at its most punishing.

This isn’t a hymn or a museum quote—it’s a manual for reckoning written in bass. Verzor drags the “day of wrath” into the present club hour: the sub as heavy gravity, dry percussion as a march of accusation, micro-syncopations as system glitches where truth breaks through the grid. Piece by piece the EP tightens the bolts: first a metallic minimalism with forensic precision, then breath-wide dropouts, off-axis accents, razor-edged technoid lines. The music doesn’t decorate. It demonstrates.

The leitmotif is blunt: order holds only until rhythm stops cooperating with it. “Dies Irae” doesn’t soothe the floor; it presents the bill and leaves you a beat short of air. This is Paperfunk in working mode—no grand speeches, concentrated force. An EP about the end of self-deception and the start of clarity.

POLURASPAD is the new Paperfunk Recordings release with C4 | Slepoy Chasovshchik as the lead voice and principal storyteller; the sound is crafted by Paperclip, 9THWAVE, 3XIL3, and Toyfon. Four chapters of reality in collapse: opening with Half-Life—integrated game sounds, cascade resonance, and the crowbar as a symbol of rational revolt; then the GPT temptation; next, a pseudo-clinic of nightmares (“Sleep Service”); and the finale—“Chuck Norris,” a blockbuster as if from a parallel reality. Hard-edged neurofunk and metal-DnB with engineered discipline: precision sound design and lyrics you can’t unhear.
