The GRAVE DIGGER sighed as he planted his shovel firmly into the muddy soil of a new plot in the cemetery, exhausted from the endless toil that had been forced upon those of his profession.Though it had only been days since an outbreak of a strange new disease had swept over the city, it felt as though an eternity had passed. The countless graves that had been dug now threatened to merge beneath his feet, their dividing walls weakened by the torrential rains that seemed to swirl endlessly in the sky above and the space between each had begun to shrink out of necessity. Under these rains it seemed the work could never end, for the graves never truly settled. Many had been found eroded by the flooding, revealing the contorted and rotted forms of their inhabitants which jutted through the sludge at odd angles. Indeed, so heavily did it seem to pour that some graves remained empty after the night, the corpses formerly within them unable to be accounted for amidst the inundated ground. 

For all the years he had spent in this position, the GRAVE DIGGER had not seen a worse combination of conditions. It felt as though the world itself was conspiring against the inhabitants of his city, who could scarcely see their dead who had been with them in life merely hours ago. He expected to join them soon enough, having handled the corpses of those who had passed for days on end. Perhaps, he mused, he already had. With so many empty graves, and no bodies to be found, who was to say that one wasn’t his? Where had he been before this had begun? Memory hardly seemed to matter anymore. If the dead truly did shamble among the living within this cursed city, perhaps he should count himself lucky to be amongst those who lived on in death above the ground.

Their track Veracity is released by Abducted LDT and they decided to make a Remix Contest for it. I never really made it to the contest but it was quite some fun remixing this amazing tune.

Night has fallen, the threat of extinction riding on the edge of its transition. Topped by a pair of dated hats, two trenchcoats loomed within the neon lit alleyway. Against the glowing backdrop of the city, their canvas forms were anachronistic, seeming to have stepped forth from the silver screens of a heyday long since past. So too unnerving was the silence with which they observed the scene before them, the disfigured and mangled robotic corpse which lay upon the dampened asphalt below. Collecting no evidence nor performing no noticeable forensics, the figures stood stock still as though shocked by that which lay before them. A murder of cold intention, somehow conducted despite the vicegrip of the security network that they represented. One might have expected such if viewing the scene at a certain angle, but in the eyes of the murderer hidden away on a nearby rooftop a different scene was portrayed.

A sole held breath escaped the murderer's mouth as he viewed the metallic investigators below. Mockeries of classical representations of his own form, their old fashioned garb did little to belie the inhuman appearance of what lay beneath. These beings of circuitry and alloy scanned the crime scene with impossible precision, imaging it’s every quality to be processed within the greater security mainframe. His single shot had been perfect, with no ammunition casing left behind, but still he worried at the mainframe’s powers of deduction. Mere moments after his robotic quarry had fallen these investigators had arrived, representing the mechanical law that now governed this once vibrant human city. He knew they would be here for hours, and that he could not move for fear of discovery during that time. Thus, in a murky corner of a soot stained rooftop the murderer hunkered in, blending into the shadows of the city’s dismal noir.

MNDSCP investigates intricate mechanical sonics with his latest PLOT HOLE EP on EATBRAIN, which follows 2019’s Hogzilla EP and a slew of other releases under his earlier Mindscape name on the label. PLOT HOLE sees MNDSCP in full force as he delivers four tracks driven by his signature tech focused sound within a thematically inspired sinister soundscape that invites the EATBRAIN horde to investigate their every undulation.
