TRC2 drops his first full EP on Codename: RCRDS with a stunning selection of deep rollers perfectly showcasing this rising talent with a defiantly unique sound pitching towards darker edges.

The EP opens with 'Basement', where crisp breaks and gully baselines combine with ominous atmospheres and synth riffs for a dark introspective roller. Things continue with the haunting techy dreamstate of 'Marvel At What Could Have Been', full of stabbing synths and rumbling basslines, before title track 'Assembly Code' moves towards more rolling drumfunk stylings. The EP closes with techstep 'Rapid Adaptation', where initially darker elements give way to lush pianos and driving synths.

[A] Perplex - Let Me Tell Ya:	
Nu Venture Records kick off 2021 with returning artist Perplex and his second EP on the label. Let Me Tell Ya opens the EP and showcases Perplex’s love for in your face Dancefloor Drum & Bass which becomes evident from the moment the beat begins. From the onset teasing vocal hooks work together with Trance inspired arpeggiators, to give the intro its momentum, before paving the way for the lead vocal which sets the tone for this track. As the vocal builds into the drop the arps are reintroduced before the arrival of a highly energetic and bouncy bass riff alongside tight crispy drums.

[B] Perplex - Staring Down The Barrel:
The title track of the EP Staring Down the Barrel, begins with a pitch bent synth within the intro, before intensifying to become the main focus and reveal the menacing intentions of this track. As the once prominent synth withdraws into the background, the lead vocal line then takes command for the build up to the drop. The spoken vocal adds suspense to the occasion as the build up progresses, before emerging as a dark rolling banger with a floor shaking bassline, coupled with aggressive punchy drums.

[C] Perplex - Fears Of The Night:
Perplex presents another signature bass heavy stomper by the name of Fears Of The Night. Commencing with a mischievous drum and mesmerising arp combination, with the addition of dark baselines and the introduction of a lead synth, that dominates early proceedings. The track progresses with the use of lashings of side-chained risers and white noise, before culminating into a drop that is destined to destroy dance floors with its lethal bass riff, hard hitting drums and the eventual re-emergence of  the catchy lead synth.

[D] Perplex - Beast Of Space:
Perplex closes out the EP with Beast Of Space, the final track continuing in a similar dark theme, as the intro begins with a catchy guitar riff coupled with techy stabs and enticing risers. The lead bassline is then gradually revealed whilst the heavy drums build momentum and are slowly faded out, before Beast Of Space drops into a tearing bass, crafted with big wobbles and teasing stabs to complete this dynamic Upfront Drum & Bass EP.
