This year I had the great pleasure of playing an ambient set at my favourite UK festival, Above Below. From the curation, to the sound systems, to the lighting & most importantly to the people, Above Below is a very special party, so I really wanted to make this as special as I could :)

To the best of my knowledge it wasn't recorded so here is an attempt at a re-record. It contains some of my favourite ever ambient & experimental records, and some of my own music & tools I prepared especially for the festival so this feels like a personal one.  I was really happy with the flow & vibe so I hope that transmits!

Just days before Summer Solstice, Liquid Bloom performed a powerful set inside Meow Wolf Denver’s Numina exhibit as part of a sold-out PORTAL event during the Psychedelic Science conference. This unique night brought together a global web of psychonauts, artists, and seekers inside the surreal dreamscape of Convergence Station.

Following a rare and beautiful DJ set from East Forest, Liquid Bloom guided a journey from ambient and downtempo into bass, drum & bass, and tribal midtempo—culminating in a high-energy blend of house rhythms and ecstatic movement. A live surprise from Poranguí added soul-stirring vocals to the mix, and a closing invocation from Ram Dass gently brought the spaceship back to Earth.

Getting in some practice improvising Ecstatic Dance Waves.  The biggest challenge is the time constraint of 2 hours! I can't plan ahead, that takes all the fun out of it for me, but fortunately I understand phrasing well enough to create a good flow.  Never as good without an audience, but this one was good enough to post.

Turn It On & On

One of my best Ecstatic Dance sets. Improvised completely in the living moment, as always, following a delightful opening circle with a blue-lotus infused coconut milk cacao ceremony. I made the fresh coconut milk, infused the blue lotus and mixed in the raw cacao paste earlier in the day, and at least 40 people got to enjoy that. Easily one of the bigger crowds I've seen at Sundari. Everyone danced hard and seemed really stoked. Easily my favorite place to play in Puna.
