This is very different type of mix from me, inspired by living in Dahab the last year and a half. I aimed to capture the emotion of this place. The essence of daily life. The subtle majesty of the mountains in St Katherine. The expansive spirit within the desert valleys. The serenity of the sea. Slow life, connected to nature and the deeply-rooted spirit of Sinai. This mix is the essence of a journey from the water to the wadi and back again.

Dahab Days

This has been titled a soundtrack over anything else. Yes it has a backbone and bed of dance music tracks but the entire project that Expediton has become involved more multitrack production and field recordings alongside several dozen sound design elements throughout the entire project. If your looking for a dj set to just dance to, this probably isn't for you. If your looking to melt into a multitude of natural ambiance and environments with some obscure under tones and trippy sound design, this is absolutely for you. Aside from the over two hour set recorded, there are over three dozen field recordings layered upon several dozen sound design elements to take you all on an expedition. Sure, it gets a little silly and probably weird at a moment or two, but I had fun with it!
I started this mix series years back in hopes to take the listener on a journey and I feel like this is pulling you into the mix deeper then it typically would. I really enjoyed working on this and hope you enjoy listening! 
Optimum listening experience would be in either a set of headphones or on some nice monitors. The stereo field gets wide at some points and the placement on some elements shifts around the stereo field.

Welcome to Frequency Underground! We feature the best in regional house and techno each and every Thursday. This week we're thrilled to have one of the top regional artists and visionaries on the show - Silent Duality. A true master at curating a vibe, both with his music and Dimensions of Being events, we were fortunate enough to have him perform at our  Soniq Oasis festival we co-produced with Synth Etiquette Radio this summer. We were equally fortunate to have been recording and captured his 4am set from the weekend and are pleased to now present it for Episode 133 of Frequency Underground! Enjoy!

◾How did you come up with your dj name: Silent Duality emerged from studying the underlying architecture of the universe.  

◾How and when did you get into djing: After producing music for a few years, I realized I needed a way to showcase it, so I began DJing 8 years ago. 

◾Who are your musical influences and what is your inspiration: 
Musical Influences range from  Pink Floyd, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, to Beethoven and Chopin to Deep Dish, Audiofly, Tale of Us, Acid Pauli and so many more. 

I’m deeply inspired by the processes of Nature and science. 

◾Describe your sound as a DJ: I’ve always had a hard time pin pointing this answer. It’s definitely rooted in House and Techno. But recently someone told me, Tribal Psychedelic Minimal Tech. I like it haha. 

◾What does the future hold in store for you as an artist:
I’m seeking to influence the philosophy of music through my art. Elevate to higher forms, the way we consume and understand music.

Biographie:
L'amour du dancefloor et de la House m'a inévitablement amené aux rudiments des tables tournantes et le mixing en février 1995. Passant par le Groove Society (bar annexe du Playground), Le bar Le China, Le Shed Café, Club Le Cathédrale, Bière & Cie, Bouddah Bar, le 1234 au Vip Lounge. Pour enfin avoir une résidence au Club Red Lite de Laval de mars1998 a mai 2001. Ça ne pouvait pas mieux tomber! Cet endroit est devenu mon Labo artistique.

En 2001, l'amour pour quelqu'un m'a fait découvrir le Acid techno. Ce style m'a amené a jouer au plus gros festival canadien, W.E.M.F.(Toronto), au Mont-Radar, Apocalypse 2003 et plusieurs autres que pour en nommes que quelques uns. En 2002, je me suis associer avec dj Indica, Dan Stringer et Ange Noir pour former notre propre compagnie d'evenements de musique électronique. (House Of Sins)et sous cette étiquette, nous avons produits environ une douzaines de party Wet'n'Hard/ raves et shows de musique Live.

Le Destin m'a donné la chance de rencontrer tout pleins d'artistes/djs qui ont prit le temps me montrer la technique mais surtout la raison pourquoi ils le font avec autant de passion.Et je vous nomme ici que ceux qui ont eu la plus grande influence sur moi. En commençant par Eddy Jasmin, Sylvain Gauthier, Angel Moraes, Danny " Buddah " Morales, Benji Candelario, David Morales, dj Indica. Pour ensuite aller l'autre cote de l'Atlantique avec Henry Cullen ( Dave the Drummer S.U.F.), Roland The Bastard, Chris Liberator, Julian Liberator.

◾How and when did you get into djing: The inception of Pangea started over 20 years ago after we (Kameleon & Labyrinth aka Eli Spiral) went to an Utta Chaos party deep in the woods around Asheville NC.

◾Who are your musical influences and what is your inspiration: Sasha, Digweed, Breeder, Quivver,  Old school Global Underground, Chemical Brothers, Hooj Choons, Glowing Flames Records. 

◾Describe your sound as a DJ: Hypnotic and Psychedelic House & Progressive Trance

◾If you could play a b2b with anyone, who would it be: Probably Torsten Fassbender, he’s making some incredibly interesting music these days.  Every track is an absolute journey. 

◾What does the future hold in store for you as an artist: At the moment I’m more focused on crafting sets than playing out, as well as connecting with other DJs to be featured on Pangea Radio.
