We are excited to announce the launch of our new White Label Series with who other than Lakim! We've been planning this series for some time now and are glad it is finally becoming a reality. Since Soulection is always finding new artists and sounds we wanted to really focus and simplify the music into a new platform. Every Soulection White Label project will consist of only 2-4 tracks and really highlight the true craftsmanship of each artist. Lakim is a perfect introduction for this launch. Stay tuned for his forthcoming release on Soulection coming out in early 2014!

As we get ready for a busy summer, of spreading the sound of tomorrow across the globe, we can't help but take a step back and bring you all the feel good, forward thinking music you know and love from Soulection. This installment of our White Label series comes from 18 year old London composer, songwriter, guitarist, singer & violinist, Tom Misch. We felt the need to list all of this in the description, because each track is such an audio masterpiece. This one is for everyone, but true fans of Dilla, and smooth, mellow, R&B inspired hip-hop beats, will definitely enjoy this release.

"Basically this EP is me attempting to make instrumentals that will effect people moods in a positive way but also make people think, all produced and recorded by myself in my bedroom. I've used a combination of obscure jazz samples but mostly live instrumentation that I've recorded, so I recored guitar, violin, bit of vocals and sound effects etc." -Tom Misch

A debut release for both band and label, Parisian duo Paradis' bring two eloquently produced tracks to Beats In Space in the form of the Parfait Tirage b/w La Ballade de Jim 12" (BIS001). Admirers from afar of DJ Tim Sweeney's weekly on air institution of 12 years (from which the label takes its name), Paradis submitted demos hoping they might hack it for some play time. 

Reared on classical and jazz, turned young hip hop rebels, turned teen club crawlers, and then university machine tinkerers, Simon Mény & Pierre Rousseau grew out of genre jumping while young enough to stay ahead and settle into music making centered around melody and emotion. 

This touchstone approach is perfectly apparent on "Parfait Tirage", a track built around sublime synth ambiance, a compelling sequence lead, and what will one day be unmistakably recognized as the Paradis vocal sound. The b-side, "La Ballade of Jim", is a deep techno take on beloved French artist Alain Souchon's track from the 80s, and already a staple in Sweeney's live set. 

Each 12" from Beats in Space features original artwork in considerate & serial form. The first 12" features artwork by Bjorn Copeland, a 21st century schizoid collagist and member of NYC experimental music legends Black Dice. The 12" packaging constructed by Will Work For Good features a vinyl BIS logo cling. The 12" will be available on September 20th, 2011 from fine retailers worldwide. The digital version will be available October 4th, 2011 from the drab internet universe.

When you compare our very first project the Fear and Loathing from 2012 to this one you'll see just how far we came and how much we've accomplished during this time. It has been such an incredible journey with over 80 releases and so many hours of absolutely incredible music. We have been blessed and we feel so grateful and lucky to be able to continue our dream and this is all thanks to you our amazing community and fan-base and to our artists that have been working real hard and poured their souls into the music that we are so proud to bring you regularly.

Fear And Loathing In Beats is the way we've been feeling all this time, like a long trippy journey that is a dream from which we're never waking up of. Our success story is all entangled with our artists that also accomplished so much during this time. We've been on the edge ever since the beginning always trying to bring you innovation and fresh sound. We've always been trying so hard to be ahead of trends and thus setting new ones. Our main objective is to keep you always interested and cultivate your taste and inspiration. Because music is the pillar of self growth, the one universal concept that everyone on the planet has in common. It's the language of the soul, body and mind.

Ajam Soul starts his mission to bring soul magic to the masses with his first EP called 'New Way'. Although he is primarily a scientist and explorer, Ajam Soul also plays musical instruments and uses electronic gadgets to express his ideas to the world. 

Lo-fi goes hi-fi, hip-hop becomes symphonic and electronic beats light the way out of the dark places that Ajam Soul can take you, while more intense atmospheres add a reassuring touch of menace to lighter melodies. 

The music of Ajam Soul almost reminds one of a private press electronic voyage album discovered in a stack of records next to Mr. Carmack, ESTA. and Ta-ku. The EP explores a wide range of sound, it’s experimental in many ways, yet each track still retains the semblance of a song. 

Poised between pure instrumentation and futuristic textures, Ajam's  themes light the way along a peaceful course. Each song is its own journey, often ending in a completely new place from where it began.
