The Plastik People garage wagon keeps on rolling, and they've got that bump n' swing for days. Label head honcho Marc Cotterell is back at it with Danny Phillips, dropping four bombs geared towards exuberant explosions of joy on the floor, leading in with the utterly infectious 'Jersey Music'. 'It's What We Do' keeps the organ stabs tightly clipped and punchy as hell, while 'Give Me Your Love' gets into a Todd Edwards frame of mind chopping the samples around on 'Give Me Your Love'. 'Summer Heatwave' rounds things off beautifully to close the EP with a sweet and sentimental groover that wiggles in all the right places.

B1 Danny Phillips - Give Me Your Love

The release kicks off with the hypnotic ‘I Do Me’. The track rolls effortlessly into a crescendo of synthetic stabs, panning acid and a throbbing bass fit for Goa. Starting off with a bang, we roll into the breakbeat inflected ‘Kotanyi’. We’re treated to more psychedelic, progressive goodness with a slightly more brooding tone. Subtle keys lighten the track’s final stanza giving it serious sunrise set potential. B1 gives us the colourful ‘Thanks For Calling’. Swirling bleeps and descending acid lines contrast the records balearic sensibilities setting the tone nicely for the Ice Cream side of Semi Delicious’ 13th outing. ‘You Do You’ brings with it broken beats, a top line akin to golden era Italian house and more citrus-y undertones that characterise the record. ‘Shapeshifter’ wraps up the affair with a bang employing an almost speed garage-esque low end below the psychedelic symphony of extraterrestrial sonics dancing above.

"Berlin based, Harry Wills steps up on Dansu Discs by way of the ‘Gazza 96’ EP, complete with a remix from one the exporters of Frankfurt’s cutting edge house sound, Tiago Walter.

The EP kicks off with the titular ‘Gazza 96’. The track effortlessly melds elements of UK garage, minimal, deep house with hip hop samples for a forward thinking interpretation of modern dance music long associated with Wills and his productions. ‘Real’ see’s the EP move deeper with a bass from the bottom of the Atlantic and a drum programming not dissimilar to a late 90’s speed garage record. ‘Strollin’ wraps up Wills 3 tracks, again you can hear the breath of influences on the producer with funky keys, a jacking bass line and intricate percussion being the stand out features of the track.

Tiago Walter wraps up the impressive four tracker with a remix of the aforementioned ‘Strollin’. He adds his imitable touch to the record, adding vocals and beefing up an already weighty bass to complete the package."
