Following widespread praise for her self-titled debut album in 2022, including Folk Radio’s Album of the Month and a nomination for FATEA’s Debut Album of the Year, this highly anticipated second release was recorded in collaboration with producer Rowan Elliott (Tamsin Elliott & Tarek Elazhary/Hands of the Heron) at The Roost in Bristol.

This song is for anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t belong. I’m sure we all go through moments of isolation or disconnection, but it’s important to remember that those very differences are what make us unique. Houston is about realizing that standing out is a strength, not a weakness.

A lilting guitar motif, hip-hop inspired rhythm section, and sultry, Sprechgesang vocals drive this song to the lakeside with the top down. “Listen” offers unexpected optimism through the introspection, and warm rays of sonic sunshine for dark and uncertain times.
