"I wrote Disconnected just before my brother went on his first tour as an Officer with the Rifles to Afghanistan. Along with the inherent worry of knowing someone you love is physically going to war, the song is also about the feeling of drifting apart from a sibling emotionally; the inevitable challenges that life’s changes bring, and wanting to go back to being naive, innocent children, sheltered from adulthood’s responsibilities. As we get older, and life moves on, it can become hard to communicate the way you feel to your family. I truly believe we can all feel vulnerable and childlike at times, regardless of our age."

Julia Dream (Pink Floyd Cover)

A grandson's tribute to his veteran grandfather...
The song follows the story of Leslie James Pink (grandfather to our guitarist Tom Pink) who, at 17, disguised his age in order to enlist in the RAF in World War II. Being the centenary of the First World War, we thought it a fitting time to remember ‘Jim’ as he was known. 

Jim took part in the D-Day landings of 1944 & served in France, Belgium, Holland & Germany. Some of the things he witnessed were horrific, including the concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen. At such a young age he was irrevocably changed, so the song is dedicated to servicemen & women like him, and their families, who continue to live with the consequences of war long after the guns are silent.

The video was filmed & edited by our guitarist Tom. The track was produced by Chris Porter (George Michael, Elton John, Bowie) recorded live at The Visconti Studio.

Alligators

Set to an epic driven electro rock backing, RUN is the second autobiographical slice of Paul Iwan's forthcoming RESISTER album.

Embedded in the sweeping synths, percolating arpeggios and grinding guitars Paul opens a conversation about his own mental health issues. Paul says "RUN is about avoidance. I can look back at things now with a bit more perspective but I got so lost, I wasn't living my life. Someone once said to me "running from your problems is a race you'll never win". By the time I'd realised that was true, my alcoholism had spiralled out of control and had been diagnosed with PTSD. Getting help is the best thing I've ever done".

RUN is released 7th December 2018.
