SOMETHING HAPPENED (As It Gave Way)

The day that fell into a continuous argument, 
on and off building each hour, fraying on edge.
The repeated motions seemed to echo 
the on going crisis outside. 

The bigger picture rode on to speak, 
just occurring in movement frequency and treatments all so often, 
overlapping the circles building. 
As it gave way in roving raps,
its gone beyond any comic turn that could break the illusion.

The processing of information in incredible stirs.
It occurred to me from decreasing ripples into waves. 
High in the tit for tat,
just repeating it over near crushing.

The record clicks, jumps glitches, missing some sound information.
Giving up on the jets, 
yes now and never on those alternative scopes. 
Oh forever burning some trouble on these hooks.

Will the horses ever run again?
 now watching in the corner café. 
Fancy dressed kings and kings with queens, 
edges of the gold dissolved into plastic cups.

Hang them up at given time slots,
feeding click bait, ignoring some reasoning. 
Those faces turn red as the anger pursues
some form as it starts to feel patronised and cornered.

Assuming airs in the calm breeze,
on a day like that you need to get away.
Run with kites up on the hills feeding the soul,
needing to dry the points, but not rise to the off the cuff tattle.

Time puts things down into the perspective,
holding measures that correctly show stretches on a late shift.
Horizons glow as it all gives sway, falling to brazen talk.
Shuttered poke, climate trolls forever germinating the land beyond this.

Hidden in the corner
with the gargoyles on the terrace.
We cover the markings of hearing them sing in tones of deep frustration.
Discussions carry through now to a touch of depending and over toning!

Taken from the bands forthcoming debut album, "Where's our Revolution Summer?" is 'Teen Spirit for the jilted generation, addressing the lengths people go keep up with the Jones's in a world dominated by social media anxieties.

Three previous singles "Comfortable", "We're Not Lovers and "Those kids have no idea whatsoever of what went on at Stalingrad",  have been released to a wave early support from BBC Introducing in Wales' Adam Walton, Little Indie Blogs, Buzz Magazine, and actor Michael Sheen, who lent his voice in the form of a spoken word sample to the latter track "...Stalingrad".

The Manatees latest single ‘Headstrong’, is an introspection of our society’s reaction to the world around us, particularly the media we are exposed to on a day-to-day basis that leaves us confused and apathetic. ‘Headstrong’ amalgamates 90’s garage rock guitar tones with a contemporary anthemic chorus in the vein of Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Vaccines. The track was mixed by former Spring King frontman, Tarek Musa, with the garage rock influences developed in his previous band and his skill set in production complimenting ‘Headstrong’ perfectly.

The Happy Pill Academy – “The Dragon EP”

The Happy Pill Academy is from London in the United States of Britain. This alternative reality project blends together character-driven lyrics, lo-fi riffs and a fresh perspective on alternative rock. Reminiscent of Nirvana / Eels / Beck, they are known for their energetic solo acoustic shows and post-grunge sensibilities.

The Dragon EP is one song served seven ways. A collaborative effort from The Happy Pill Academy and sixteen incredibly talented friends that took seven months from initial recording to piece together, track by track.

A song about a Dragon that doesn't want to be one any more. Allegorical, emotional and containing dark humour, this track was destined to be reinterpreted in myriad ways. Psychedelic, Stoner Rock, 80s Metal, Alt Rock and Electronic; all here in this electrifyingly eclectic EP.
