If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Showcasing their immense collective talent, Cirelli & Minski skilfully combine experimental soundscapes with crisp rolling beats and warm sonorous bass lines, complete with Minski's intricate and exquisitely played violin layers.

Quoted as being "a highly-accomplished example of musicality meets elegant electronica", "Flights Of Strings And Beats" takes you on an epic journey that masterfully fuses the worlds of classical and electronic music. It captures the intricacies of classical music whilst at the same time delivering the edginess of electronic music.

Cirelli & Minski are inspired and influenced by great classical composers such as Mozart, Bach and Wagner – as well as the more contemporary Debussy, Satie and Saint-Saens. Alongside these classical influences, electronic music artists such as Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Bonobo have also played a role in shaping their distinctive musical style.

Their collective ability to fuse the worlds of classical and electronic music is stunning.

Did you know over-65s account for almost half of the UK’s housing wealth? Did you know the older generation went to university for free? Did you know the older generation had the right to work and live in Europe, but overwhelmingly voted to take it away from young people? Can you really say society is working for the young, when the odds are stacked against them that badly? 

The problem isn’t only limited to the UK. Even though we’re British, and live in England, we grew up in The Netherlands and see many of the same problems there: a broken housing market, an increase in short-term contracts, the young being saddled with debt for life. The UK and the US, however, are on a completely different level. We feel the odds are stacked against the younger generation in most western countries. Is the older generation really thinking long-term? Are too many decisions being made by the older generation?

We wrote “Hey Boomer” during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. It felt like young people were having their lives upended in order to save as many of the older generation as possible. Of course, this was the right thing to do; however, this song was written in anticipation of the older generation — or at least the majority of them — not returning the favour in the future.

The path out of this crisis is going to be incredibly difficult, especially as governments around the world have taken on obscene amounts of debt (not all for the right reasons). This is all going to be shifted onto the next generation. Considering those under 40 will suffer the biggest economic blow, it’s only fair that ALL generations carry the burden of this pandemic. The word “again" in the chorus is a reference to the older generation overwhelmingly voting for Brexit here in the UK, which we felt was not their decision to make.

Eden Iris is an artist from Auckland, New Zealand who has been described as “an artist working in a new space” (Jordan Luck, Exponents) who has “the ambition to carve out her own niche” (Demerra Records). She moved to Los Angeles, California when she was nineteen years-old to pursue her music career and has since made a home for herself on the west coast. In Los Angeles, Eden has collaborated with esteemed songwriters such as Maia Sharp (Dixie Chicks), Jamie Candiloro (REM, Ryan Adams) and Bruce Lynch (Kate Bush).

Working out of her home studio in Burbank, California, not a day that goes by that Eden isn’t writing, recording, or producing. Her Demons EP (2018) was described as “soul stirring, beautifully arranged and poignantly observed…” by Mike Alexander (Sunday Star Times) and received radio-play on Los Angeles Station 88.5 KCSN, along with three of her other singles (two of them being featured as “Fresh Squeeze of the Day” By DJ Nic Harcourt).

In 2019, the haunting folk/electronica song “Dark Sunday Dream” found it’s cult following after being picked up by indie-folk playlist Alex Rainbird, with over half a million subscribers on Youtube. “Dark Sunday Dream” has also had regular rotation on Radio Paradise and has received critical acclaim by indie-folk blogs around the world. Eden’s single “Worse Things” (November 2019) which was co-written with Maia Sharp, premiered with Billboard and American Songwriter Magazine. With the steady release of these singles over the past year, Eden is building a strong fanbase who highly anticipate the release of her debut album in January, 2021.
