Rapper-turned-singer Jake Aldridge is one of the most intriguing British artists in recent years. Despite starting his career with a lack of natural rhythm, he went on to become an award-winning musician picking up multiple awards in the best artist category. Wishing to inspire those facing adversity, Jake’s upcoming Pop-Country single ‘Down’, is a tribute to, and a celebration of, ‘The underdog’. A title he is all too familiar with. 

At 11 years old, Jake experienced a traumatic loss when his father was struck by lightning during a family fishing trip. The tragedy became the catalyst for a budding career in the music industry as he began writing songs as a way of expressing himself. Having come from a non-musical background, Jake did not play any instruments and singing was not a part of his repertoire. Living in Reydon (a small coastal village in Suffolk) the teenage Jake did not know where to turn for help. Eventually, he began collaborating with local guitarist George Bennett who helped him discover a sense of rhythm. 
	
After many years of practice (and by harnessing the power of social networking) Jake grew his following by releasing songs into the public domain. His singles ‘Erotic’ and ‘Falling’ received regular rotation on Sky’s Playboy television channels. Jake’s music ultimately caught the attention of Dingwall’s owner Maria Kempinska, who invited him to perform at the London Hippodrome where Grammy award winner Billie Laurie said that the young rapper “Definitely has hit songs”! 

After receiving more votes than 100 fellow artists, Jake picked up the ‘Audience Choice’ Award at the 2017 ‘New Music Generator Awards’. He also won the ‘Male Act of the Year Award’ at ‘The International Achievers Awards’ the following year. As the momentum began to build, Jake’s music was selected for licensing by ‘Road Trip Nation’ (a US television series). Whilst receiving critical acclaim for his hip hop-influenced sound, it was the country-pop genre that began to peak Jake’s interest. Inspired by American country artists, such as Kane Brown & Dan + Shay, Jake decided to take singing lessons and began incorporating country music into his songs. The new sound helped Jake to secure airplay on BBC Radio Suffolk and BBC Radio Cambridge. His Pop-Country songs have amassed 70,000 streams on Spotify to date. 
	
Jake embraces the joviality of pop and combines it with a splash of country in his new track ‘Down’. The evocative song is filled with raw honesty, genuineness, and sincerity for the underdog. The track is produced by Nashville based Simon Reid and was co-written by multi-instrumentalist David Edward Booth.

Prairie Dogs is a warning, an instruction, a scream for hope. It holds its breath through clashing chords and bursts through questioning what’s coming next.
The Holy Orders were approached a few years ago by fan and up and coming producer/engineer Nick Russell who asked if he could record them for an assessment. The band agreed and went into the studio with him to record a germ of an idea.  They were so happy with the results that when the germ evolved into Prairie Dogs, The Holy Orders got back in touch with Nick and asked him to complete the recording of the single.

Multi-instrumentalist Ren Lawton has had a diverse, often tumultuous, career in the music world. Originally performing under his own name, Conor Owen, he experienced the highs of supporting the likes of We Are Scientists and The Subways. Having taken a break to concentrate on tour management, Conor gained a well of experience living out of a van, travelling and playing in bars. Reinvigorated, the time was right for Conor to reinvent himself, begin writing and ultimately perform under the moniker Ren Lawton.

With a notable ability to play a varied section of instruments - from guitars and trumpet to harmonica and piano - Ren Lawton was a project that would transform Conor’s style of music. He was able to create mature vignettes inspired by the great storytellers from music and beyond such as Bob Dylan and Frank ‘Connor. The result is debut album, Today Today Tomorrow; a collection of songs, emotive and personal, cutting right to the heart of who Conor is.

Today Today Tomorrow is distinctive album drawing inspiration from British folk traditions, Americana, blues and soul. Conor illustrates his eclectic methodology through the gentle soothing of forthcoming single and album title opener, to the playful, uplifting bop of ‘Thinking About You’.
