Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 22nd November: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch427

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

Young Dumb Fools

Scotty is the new single from South Wales’ resident indie pop star Aderyn. The lyrics feature honest and confessional musings on the ‘eternal sunshine of the spotless mind’ feeling of wishing you could erase someone from your memory. Written after a night at the pub, and many drinks, the song is euphoric, with the tempo and band kicking up several gears in the choruses, while the verses centre on Aderyn’s vocals as the lyrics attempt to come to terms with the knotty process of getting over someone. Featuring a chorus that’s impossible not to dance to, and culminating in a face melting guitar solo, this song is as deliciously turbulent as the feelings which inspired it.

The track is what happens when you put a Stylophone through an Eventide FX pedal and then cover it in drums and see how dirty you can make vocals and still make out (roughly) what is being said.

OMG - LOL

This track is a collaboration between The Sighs of Monsters and poet David Chislett. The poem "More Than Blue" appears in his new collection of poetry "With All Of You" and we were tasked with setting it to music, along with other artists who chose other works. The poem references the cultural impact of New Order's "Blue Monday" as it pounded out of the loudspeakers of the clubs in the 1980s, as the author "found his tribe". We've made some cheeky references to it in our musical treatment.
