If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. Based in London, made in Leeds, Ten Hands High's sound has evolved drastically since their inception in 2019 and has now arrived at Vibe Central Station. Starting in classic indie rock roots, they now explore the boundaries of their genre, incorporating rnb, hip-hop and alt-pop elements into an indie sound that focuses on groove and atmosphere. They have consistently sold out headline shows in their two hometowns and on May 1st 2022, played their biggest headline show yet at a sold out Omeara in London. Jack Saunders of BBC Radio 1 called their debut EP's lead single Sweet - "euphoric", and their most recent single - ‘i don’t need a lobster’ received high praise on Twitter from Trainspotting star and indie music guru, Robert Carlyle. The band have also been played on BBC Introducing: The South, 6Music's BBC Introducing Mixtape and Radio X’s X-Posure, as well as being featured on playlists like Spotify's Students Union and Amazon's Fresh Indie.

Is love written in the algorithms or the stars? FLOTSZAM asks in “Digital Love”, a playful exploration of love in the age of dating apps. As around 40% of couples meet their partner online today, FLOTSZAM wonders whether to let technology decide who she loves, or to leave it to mysterious and magical forces?
Pessimistic from past dating experiences, yet hopeful for potential matches via apps, in this electro-pop track FLOTSZAM escapes these questions and finds her release on the dancefloor.

I Reckon Something

This is a short piece of instrumental music that I started working on at home shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine. It has quite specific meaning and resonance for me, for anyone else though I suppose it can be described as a tune for our times. I hope it makes people feel something, maybe something like looking back for something lost, or maybe something that never was.

I'll Die A Little

Born out of the vibrant Birmingham music scene, Postman are a new band combining the sounds of Protomartyr and Manic Street Preachers with their own unique take on post-punk. Composed by drummer Tyler Rooker, their debut single Cannot Describe The Feeling is written from the point of view of a serial killer observing their own actions. 

The track was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band entirely and is the first single from their upcoming EP. Cannot Describe The Feeling will be released on all streaming services on 12th August. Head to @postman.band on instagram for more info.

The song was inspired by the title of a Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers song called ‘Born To Lose’.
Albeit it’s a very different song but the title really resonated with me.
It’s often the case that no matter how hard you work, success in life is determined by good luck or nepotism.
Hard work will get you part of the way but it’s not enough to get you all of the way. Most of us will need a ‘leg-up’ at some point, unless you are one of those incredibly lucky souls that didn’t need to do much work at all and yet are still successful.
So if you conflate that with the fact that if some people are born lucky, then there are others then that are born unlucky.
No matter how hard they work life can still be unfair.
Their dreams will always be just that… dreams.
Remember life isn’t fair, life is just life.

Born to lose is my anthem for losers everywhere.
