Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 7th Nov: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch466

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

Featuring a collection of songs written over the last 10 years Little Victories is an album that marks and
celebrates moments in time, each song a dense narrative woven together with found sounds, lockdown field recordings,
snatches of speech and delicate vocals. From the avant-pop of the opening track Little Creatures, recalling the
rawness of early Arcade Fire, to the stunning folk-fragility of stand-out track King Alfred’s Cakes, it celebrates the
stories of the small and minute, giving voices to canaries and desks, with a wry and intelligent humour. Hinging on the
sound-bites of friends and audience members who recount their own little victories about pants, plants, and washing up,
it is a unique world of deep humanity, laughter, tenderness and journeys, a network of little things making a beautiful
whole.

R.dyer (they/them) is a multi-instrumentalist and experimental song-writer based in Brighton, UK. Using anything from found sounds, tin-can phones, synth, musical saw, saxophone, harp, optical theremins
and home-made instruments Dyer creates intricate looped performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising
soundscapes via acapella folk songs and stories about dogs in trainers. Their live shows combine the charming chaos
of Thomas Truax with the musical virtuosity of Sarah Angliss, one of many artists that Dyer has supported, along with
such names as Ana da Silva &amp; PHEW!, Alabaster dePlume, Haiku Salut and Richard Dawson. They were awarded an
Emergent Commission by Drake music in 2021, responding to the theme of ‘risk’ by writing a song about board games.
This year they secured funding from Help Musicians UK to make this album. Other achievements include performing an
entire set as an ice cream, which they’d happily do hundreds and thousands of times again.

The album was mixed by Jon Griffin (tracks 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) and Eddie Haydn-Smith (tracks 1,2,6, 7) All songs by R.dyer except track 1 by R.dyer and V.Tremain. All rights reserved.

With its washes of synths strings, tinkering electronic piano, detached vocals and layered harmonies delivered in Cromwell’s lush baritone, ‘The Winter Palace’ evokes an icy cold soundscape fit for the months of winter. Where the title track of his recent album ‘Memory Box’ is about losing the power of recall, ‘The Winter Palace’ is about trying to forget a lost love, but being haunted by them in his memory. Cromwell sings to his former love “I dream of you regardless, whether I am asleep or awake”.

With a majestic sweeping synth solo, that wouldn’t sound out of place on Bowie’s ‘Low’, sonically the song sits between classic new wave artists like Joy Division or OMD and more contemporary acts like Ladytron or Black Marble.

The B-side ‘Rod, Jane and Freddy,’ with its squelchy vintage synths and rumbling krautrock beat, is a playful technicoloured instrumental named after the performance group from 1980’s ITV children’s show Rainbow. 

‘The Winter Palace’ was recorded in Cromwell’s home studio in Catford, South London and was produced in Brooklyn, New York at ACME Hall Studio by Rich Bennett.

Since the release of his debut 'Age of Anxiety' album, Rodney Cromwell has been featured by the likes of NME, Electronic Sound, Huffington Post, Paste, Shindig!, Louder Than War, The Big Takeover, Magic RPM and the Bandcamp homepage. He’s had national radio play in Japan, Finland, Germany and multiple spins on RTE in Ireland, on BBC 6 Music in the UK and RNE3 in Spain for whom he recorded a live session.

The Rodney Cromwell live set is a joyful mixed-media extravaganza, incorporating analogue synths, video visuals and live instrumentation, interjected by Rodney’s 'offbeat wit'' (NME). His debut festival appearance at Indietracks was described as 'like a spiritual experience". He has shared stages with acts including A Flock of Seagulls, Pram, Death & Vanilla, Rowetta, M!R!M and Steve Davis. His sole performance in 2020 was as part of Damo Suzuki's backing band. In 2022 he recorded a live session for Electronic Sound and in autumn 2022 he is playing a number of dates supporting Blancmange.

The anonymously masked Harry And The Kanes writes music merging his two favourite loves in life: football and music. After hitting the Spotify top 20 viral chart last year with his debut single 'England We Are Dreaming Now' Harry is back with new single 'Son Heung-Min (손흥민)' an ode to Spurs and South Korean legend. The track mixes a poppy piano lead sing-along chorus with feisty drum n bass style beats and a more raucous vocal in the verses that hopefully appeals whether you like football or not and with the hope that whether in a stadium or club it will get the adrenaline pumping and those dancing feet moving. The track is written and produced by Harry himself and mixed by James Kenosha (Rhodes / Mikky Ekko).

Gent El Saxo features St3v3L33 and it places TFM’s echoing saxophone switching between a cool melody and bits of improv while the backdrop is more like a downtempo electronic track with programmed beat and sounds coming in and out of the mix behind the sax which dominates throughout. So I Had This Dream

I'm just a wanderer making genre-fluid music for introverts and outsiders. You can call me a rapper, or singer or WHATEVER! But I like to explore beyond the boundaries of genre, and I'm looking for other wanderers to come get lost with me.

Trainwreck is the last track on my new EP "Happy music for Depressed People". The song is cathartic anthem about mental health and persevering. I have a huge track record for being lost in life, and this song is kind of me getting a lot of feelings off my chest.

I hope it finds who needs it.
