If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. During the first lockdown, due to the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, my children and I decided to plant an area of wildflowers in our garden. Science was linking the pandemic with the years of exploitation and destruction of the natural world* and to try to combat our sense of the overwhelming helplessness of this situation we planted wildflowers and over the coming months watched the bees and butterflies visit.

Biography
Sure is Tony Taylor, a singer and songwriter from Stratford in London’s east end.

Following in the footsteps of his father - ‘Jet’ Taylor, an aspiring rock’n’roll artist in London’s swinging sixties - Tony has long held a love of music and a desire to sing. He has diverse musical tastes and an entrenched appreciation of pop music which includes a dazzling array of artists as diverse as Yazoo, Jer...maine Stewart and Sybil to name a few.

Tony has always been drawn to synthpop and artificially created electronic music, hailing back to when he first heard the music of Japan’s Tomita as a child. However, it wasn’t until he heard Erasure’s “Chorus” in 1992 that he was inspired to begin penning his own songs. Guided by his musical heroes George Michael and Annie Lennox, Tony began honing his vocal skills whilst writing scores of songs, experimenting with melody and lyrical ideas.

A chance encounter with fellow synthop artist Bispatial in 2007 resulted in several writing sessions where Tony wrote a number of songs to Bispatial’s music. Out of these sessions came demos of All I Do, Covered Candy and debut track Home. With a live performance under his belt in July 2007 and an appearance at London’s “Synthetic” in October 2008, Tony has been writing in earnest to put together an album. Having been remixed by the likes of Madsen, Phatso Brown, Vista and Haberdashery, Sure has been working with Bispatial, Matt Pop and Inny to make his dream a reality.

Tony battled cancer in early 2010 and his love of music sustained him throughout the long months of treatment. Consequently he is even more determined to succeed with his music! See More

Shake On It

Decay is Heartfelt, Sad & Melancholic and the 3rd single from Glastonbury bound Gosport resident Jeanie White and is Part of the One take to Tape debut EP (out 28th April) recorded by Dry Cleaning, PJ Harvey Engineer Oli Baldwin. 
Jeanie is signed to Wasserman Live Agency & has been working with The Coral’s Bill Ryder Jones, Slow Club's Charles Watson & Lana Del Rey producer James Dring. Jeanie is in the studio working on her full production debut album now with Sam Yamaha (recently written with Drug Store Romeos (Fiction), Rosa Walton of Let’s Eat Grandma (Transgressive) Jeanie will be at The Alt Escape in May 11th 
Decay is a song about living under a crushing weight. I wanted to write honestly about what it feels like in the midst of depression, when you can hardly summon the will to brush your own teeth let alone face the world and the many things it asks of us. Somehow after writing the song and having a good cry, I managed to gain a sense of catharsis- as if in facing up to the those feelings, I shed some of my fear. I wanted to share this song with people because I know lots of us feel this way behind closed doors and I don’t want them to feel hopeless or alone.
 Interesting fact Decay The title of the track is only sung once, - The Last word.

Gaining support from the likes of Jack Saunders on Radio One John Kennedy Radio X, BBC Introducing ROTW Solent, Apple Music, BT Sport and XS Radio Manchester, 21-year-old singer-songwriter Harvey Jay Dodgson unveils his lively new single ‘Give Me A Sign’, releasing April 7th 


Driven by a slamming Guitar met by a hypnotic repetitive breakdown, ‘Give Me A Sign is truly infectious. Dodgson brings an effortless trademark vocal performance with his signature rasp and flow adding heaps of attitude and character to this fiery release.


Speaking on the track, Harvey explains; 
Tell me. Show me. Give me a sign. From the deep depths of frustration and angst, sang with animosity and fuelled with indignation, my latest track sonically portrays the repetitive biting of my struggle.  Through the pain and the burden, give me a sign that pushes me past it.  
Taking on the track with a new perspective, producer Michael Smith (RYP Recordings) forges together a wall of destructive guitars, heavily layered vocals and a thread of electronic madness to create a hugely powerful new record.  Used predominantly as the set-opener, Give Me A Sign will aid the release of your pent-up catharsis.  
 

Following on from his double Radio One supported ‘Marilyn Rose ’ which built on the 1st single from his forthcoming EP ‘Tell Me’ and his debut EP ‘Oxygen’ which contained a string of highly successful singles supported by industry tastemakers, he again cements himself as an incredibly exciting young talent.



 


Working on his previous EP ‘Oxygen’ with Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, Anteros) at RYP Studios, Dodgson was named BT TV and Scotts Menswear as ‘One to Watch 2021’, as well as receiving a glowing review from Clash Magazine with single ‘Caroline’ chosen as their ‘Track of The Day’.

2022 has seen Harvey play The Great Escape Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, High Tide Festival, 110 Above Festival and Victorious Festival with Harvey’s appearances in the live scene set to get bigger and bigger following backing from Alex Hardee (Liam Gallagher, Sia, Clean Bandit) of Wasserman booking agency.

More recently, Harvey’s single ‘Caroline’ was sync’ed to the 7th most watched Netflix film ‘Purple Hearts’, as well as sync’ed to the UK’s favourite dating show Love Island. 

Background 
Hailing from Portsmouth, Harvey Jay Dodgson started playing the guitar at the age of 7 and by 9 years of age had written his first piece of music. His early inspiration came after being introduced by older brother Neil to the music of Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday and the free- flowing vocal melodies of Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles. 

He says, "It instantly opened my eyes (or should I say ‘ears’) to a completely different sound of music." It was discovering the jazz-influenced artists, King Krule and Cosmo Pyke who inspired him to experiment further and he was soon ready to create his own music.
