Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

I do hope you like this track.

'It's Your Life' is expected to be my next single release and if you're familiar with my previous releases (thank you if you've heard any of my earlier tracks), it is more akin to atmospheric, ambient, instrumental, ethereal tracks 'Gloria' and 'Before' and would sit well with the orchestral strings and worldless vox soundscape in 'Soul's Cry' which is developed further in 'Who Do You Wanna Be' and 'Sanctuary' from The Awakening album (2022) - which have more layered, almost acapella vocal parts. And these in turn were inspired following the interest in Maids of the Mer (in particular) from my debut Nature's Grace album in 2021.

Colonel Mustard served with great honor during the Great War with Colonel Sanders and Sergeant Pepper. Indeed, they worked as a team in the cantina of a military camp where they were serving fried chicken to the soldiers. After the war, Colonel Mustard, Colonel Sanders and Sergeant Pepper founded with an additional business partner named Harvey Beerstein (Cap'n Crush), a greasy spoon restaurant called The Four Little Pigs.  Harvey Beerstein was known for his special way of whipping mayonnaise and undressing young Hollywood actresses. Unhealthy food and practices became their trademark. Some whistle blowers pretended that the The Four Little Pigs were shipping false relic bones to Boneman & Sacks Relic Asset Management Inc. but who really knows. Strangely, those whistle blowers vanished and the bone relic market went up just after.

Close Your Eyes See The Magic

Spiritual Minimal is a new music project formed by Lindsay and Tim Baker in the late summer of 2024. Taking influence and inspiration from the likes of Slowdive, Nico, Warpaint and Unloved. The group aims to create a true, sonically induced transcendent experience.

The first single Solar Maximum confronts aspirations, saviours and the fragility of time, all underpinned with a sense of escapism and a life-affirming hit of euphoria.

This track was directly inspired by the BBC drama, Peaky Blinders and was written about the character Tommy Shelby.
As I’m based in the Black Country on the edge of Birmingham, it felt fitting to devote a track to such an incredible character, so beautifully played by the fabulous Cillian Murphy
All I need now is for Steven Knight to discover it in time for the creation of the soundtrack of the new Peaky Blinders film that’s currently being filmed in the Midlands

'braincloud' is a spoken word song depicting a walk home from a night out, focusing on 2 characters lost in their thoughts/anxieties, bought to the light by their erratic drunken behaviour. The 2 characters have different stories, but are one and the same in many ways - they're both plagued by regret, weighed down by the things they wish to change about themselves. Produced in a bedroom studio, this song lets the lyrics speak for themselves - aiming to create a cinematic and layered song-story.
