‘Two Suns’ opens with deep growls, accompanied by soft cymbals and ambient chords creating an element of mystery and anticipation.  Lockjaw then hits you with what is becoming his sonic signature  - punchy drums seamlessly merged with driving sub bass and a sinister hook. The minor variations are well received, most notably the drum switch-up half way through, adding a level of complexity to the second half of the tune.

MINDSCAPE brings his unique and fierce take on d&b back to his home label with REANIMATOR CHAPTER ONE on EATBRAIN, the first part of a series of 3 EPs, that culminate in the REANIMATOR LP. As one of the imprint’s most recognisable figureheads, Mindscape deftly demonstrates why that’s the case with the 4 tracks within delivering distinct and succinctly powerful ideas to the table. MANBEARPIG carries a swagger dripping with pure and deliberately paced attitude, whilst SHUT DOWN (feat. COPPA) rides on a fast-moving bassline and percussive flurry. Med School’s most innovative release series returns. Responsible for delivering the drum & bass scene early stories of Etherwood, Royalston, Stray and Whiney, ‘New Blood’ is definitive of Med School’s ethos when it comes to discovering and nurturing quality talent. With artists constantly redrawing the boundaries of 170BPM, this ‘018’ edition breaks the mould showcasing the weird and wonderful sounds from the genre’s most promising new talent.

Interdimensional waveman Lakeway has mustered up a jukey-jungle hybrid in the form of ‘Lock Off’. Panpipe synths and some big beat steps combine to make the ultimate banger. Keeping things correct is Bristolian serpent Constrict. Choppy snares and flirty 8-bit synth stabs slither together to create ‘Tight Coil’.
