"I recorded the first version of this song in 2013 when I was turning 18. I came back more than once over the next 1-2 years. 

At the 2:57 mark I back come in to look back on what happened from a different perspective. In doing so I was able to process the story, that period in my life again, on a deeper level. 

At 2:57 it is like a reality check.. “Shit, this is what was really going down..” And the rest of the song – with the extended dance section and the darker tone – is really a grieving process, both for what was, and the dreams that never really were – the dreams of idealised love that never held any water. It is also a catharsis and transformation, of the pain and confusion. 

This reflective and retrospective process, captured as ‘Blue in Orange’ allowed me to tie this up and move on –> from blue into orange!"

“Rising” by Summer-Pearl and produced by Alma De La Selva & Paya, is the fifth single from The Silhouettes Project. 
 
The Silhouettes Project is a new platform for up-and-coming Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz artists from the UK. It is not a record label or management team, it is a community project. The Silhouettes Project provides an open space - a recording studio and live venue located within the Total Refreshment Centre in Hackney, London - where MCs, singers, musicians and producers can connect and create.

The Silhouettes Project was founded by community organisers/artists Asher Korner (aka Kosher) and Jaden Osei-Bonsu (Eerf Evil) in 2019. When they told us about the project and played us some of the music we were instantly hooked and joined the collective as label partner. The art direction is executed by Sergio “SagaUno” Alférez, an acclaimed designer and illustrator from Medellín, Colombia.

Starting in September, we release a new single each Thursday from artists like 
Kofi Stone, Summers Sons, Enny, KeepVibesNear, Manik MC, Lex Amor, Louis The Hippie, Summer-Pearl, Joe Beard and many more.

All 15 singles will also be available on one LP towards the end of the year.
