The official debut duo project from rapper Milc and producer Andy Savoie. 

One of Portland’s most brazenly true-to-life lyricists teams up with the multi-talented Portland-raised, Seattle-based producer/musician – both dead-set on the explicit mission of creating a Pacific NW classic. Joining the cause are Portland’s own Soop Dread & Farnell Newton, with Seattle’s Greg Cypher, La, Chima The Stubborn, C'est La and Elan Wright, plus the Big Homie of the group – West Coast all-star, L.A. representative, Blu. 

Originally a 8 track long EP, 'Windbreaker XL' now expands the project to a full-length album, with 5 all new tracks pulled from the original album sessions.

Following his return to solo work with last year's triumphantly dynamic 'No Two Blue Ticks' album – Royce Wood Junior now circles back with a new offering from those same album sessions. 

Not only was "Spit Up" originally intended for 'No Two Blue Ticks', but in fact the album title was even pulled from a line in the song's lyrics. Unfortunately, it wasn't finished in time to make the final tracklisting – but, thankfully, now it is.

Pacific Northwest rap duo Milc & Andy Savoie will be following up their ‘Windbreaker’ EP project this July with a deluxe, full-length LP version, entitled ‘Windbreaker XL’ (naturally).  With the original already considered somewhat of a local classic among Portland & Seattle rap fans, the project is now expanded with 5 more additional songs – all pulled from the original EP recording sessions.  

To announce the new ‘XL’ version, the duo offer up a new single, “Hasbulla” – named after the viral Dagestanian sensation himself, who fans have come to associate with bearing a similar likeness & general familiar energy to Milc.  Joining them on the song is returning EP guest, Seattle’s own, Greg Cypher – making for another full-on rap clinic from two of the absolute best in their region.  

Inspired by the format of classic Gang Starr posses cuts like “I’m The Man” and “Speak Ya Clout” – producer Andy Savoie flexes how prolific & consistent he is with the beats by providing each MC’s verse with its own completely separate instrumental, merging the two seamlessly with intercut samples from vintage Blazers vs. Sonics games, once again re-informing the album’s interstate connective tissue.  Among the many quotable lines that two talents each crammed their respective verses with, some stand-outs include Greg Cypher tipping his cap to El-P’s first group to show how in-demand he and his crew have become (“dropping [LP’s/El-P] – they want to see my [company flow / Company Flow]!”), and for the sports enthusiasts, Milc compares a co-conspirator of his to Miami player Udonis Haslem, as they both "did a lot for the [heat/Heat]."

Milc & Andy Savoie "Funeral On Fremont"

This album introduces a new twenty-two year old artist named Mara Hruby from Oakland, CA. She arrived on the scene at the start of 2010, playing shows throughout the Bay Area, and is releasing her debut EP, From Her Eyes. Mara has worked on this album for the past nine months; she has applied her multi-talented dedication to recording, arranging, and engineering her own work. She has performed on stage, dancing and backing other artists in the Bay Area; unconsciously preparing herself for this path. She has chosen to speak through music in order to connect with those of us who love music. 

These seven tracks represent the genesis of the view “From Mara’s Eyes” of the various works of her favorite male artists. Each song is connected to a memory experience in Mara’s young life. The beauty and elegance of Van Hunt’s “Character,” Bob Marley’s love of Jah, Mos Def’s soulful poetry, André “3000” Benjamin’s “Take Off Your Cool,” as well as D’Angelo’s “Send It On” – are all examples of art forms from today’s exceptional musicians.
