R O B /N S O N @robinsonsound, a cheerful soul who transports stories and emotions through her life’s work. Based in Dresden but addicted to inspiration all around the world. The location of the Festival Nachtdigital is her original hometown and since this event has founded her music style was inspired by it. In 2010 she became part of the Nachtdigital festival family and is inspiring between music and design. As an 80s child her creativity is colorful, playful and powerful. Since 2015 she started to collect her favorite vinyl’s and mixed music for herself and her daily dose. She agitates with passion and devotion and enjoys music for herself as practiced meditation. She ranges between 80s, Italo, Nu & Dark Disco and House.

The creator of the 303 Devilfish, Robin Whittle, once defined techno music as the sound of "machines cranking over, lovingly tended". Humans have been tending music machines, while they crank over, for a surprisingly long time.

The story in this mixtape is about the machines and those who tended them to cultivate what evolved into techno music, chronologically moving through the decades from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Including machine music by Raymond Scott, Laurie Spiegel, Einzelganger (Giorgio Moroder), Kraftwerk, DAF, and Severed Heads.

We would be surprised if you find yourself dancing to the first half of the mix, however, we would not be surprised if you find yourself a little disorientated, in a rather perplexing daydream…
