Quickly following up the last, instant sell-out smash, Shir Khan's infamous "Black Jukebox" series hit us with the 12th edition. Introducing anonymous project Aussteiger who gets things bouncing with the Summer house monster, "Bangbao". Lush filter sweeps, twinkling keys and powerful bass are order of the day here as the producer works his magic on one of the sunniest grooves we've heard this year. "Return" keeps that outdoor terrace flavour but plunges us deep into the twilight, tribal drums and deep electronics locking us into its hypnotic recess. Martin Lewis contributes a seriously fun and summery version of "Now That We Found Love", utilizing glorious xylophones and horns throughout the melody and letting it roll out with aplomb. Finally, we get the cheeky "Do It" edit which combines hypnotic congas with funky guitar licks and a sun-burnt, Latin energy to create a sizzling brew of hot dancefloor energy. Great stuff! Finally, you might think, and right on time for the open-air season. Now, two years after „Syvsover“, the Berlin-based Dane, Jesper Ryom, is ready with his latest release „The Two Of Us“ – providing us with the perfect soundtrack for the hot days and the warm nights. Radiating euphoria with each bassline and elegantly bridging house and pop, these four tracks will both make you break out in sweat and put a smile upon your face.
Tied together with a hypnotically energetic feel, each track is a journey into the timeless depths of Jesper Ryom’s stylistically confident sounds. And while layers of intricate atmosphere continuously is added on to each beat, Ryom doesn’t forget the floor for a single second. The waiting has finally paid off and these four tunes are sure to enrichen the summer vibe, whether spent partying or basking by a lake.

1. The Two Of Us
Title track and opener "The Two Of Us" perfectly demonstrates Jesper Ryom's penchant for layered sampling combined with modern elements, as the synth bassline and direct groove of the drums provide the backdrop for this funky yet subtly melancholic track.


2. Trivia
"Trivia" confidently ups the energy level and directly targets the floor. With reverberating brass samples, unapologetic arpeggios and dusty vocals, its simple message is one of movement and smiles.


3. Ada
Vocal-driven "Ada" is decidedly melodic and contemplative while still balancing these qualities with a consistent groove. While the lyrically enigmatic vocal sample drives the verse, the chorus is dominated by both melancholic 80s chords and an arpeggiated lead.

4. Superluminal
The funky guitar, subdued percussion and pulsating beat of "Superluminal" takes you by the hand and pulls you onto the dance floor. As the grooving piano is slowly unveiled amidst 707 claps and tambourine hits there is no doubt about the potential of this tune.

At night, Blue Marlin opens it's doors to a selection of Guest DJ's and performers to get the real party started with appearances from Little Louie Vega, Goldfish, Wally Lopez, Chuckie and Barbara Tucker to name a few. 

For volume 7, Blue Marlin have really pulled out all the stops, giving us 2 discs each with a distinctly different flavour, but still retaining that cool Blue Marlin vibe. Disc 1 is full of great deep house cuts that provide a taste of nights at the club, standout tracks being the Luna City Express remix of Marcos In Dub’s Mama Said and Pachanga Boys timeless Time. Disc 2 is more chilled and features stunning tracks from James Welsh and Prins Thomas’ remix of James Yuill’s This Sweet Love. The album will be heavily promoted across social media by Blue Marlin’s label partner Cr2 Records, and will be advertised extensively at the club itself.
