Here comes a new episode of my Indie Dance Mix Series...
this time with Jandro Ferragut aka Ultratube from Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

BIO
Behind the alter ego "Ultratube", there is a tremendously curious person with an obsession to constantly investigate new music, new structures and sounds that take him to another emotional state.

His sincere musical passion began to develop in the mid-90s, bathing himself in styles where distorted guitars predominated such as Indie Rock, Punk, Noise, Shoegaze, Indie Pop or Dream Pop, among others. In love with powerful bases and heavenly melodies.

At the beginning of 2000, contact with electronic music began through Techno, of a more minimalist and hypnotic style, with people like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills or Josh Wink among others. Already in the mid and late 2000s, he began to have contact with more melodic and atmospheric styles, such as Progressive House, influenced by people like John Digweed, Sasha or Hernan Cattaneo.

Around the year 2022, he falls in love with Disco in its most cosmic and spatial aspect (where he also plays Dark Disco, Italo Disco, Indie Dance, New Beat, Acid, Progressive, etc...).

He usually plays at El Barbero Club (Palma de Mallorca). One of the reference clubs in the city in terms of quality electronics with more than 30 years of experience.

The mixes he creates are usually journeys through hypnotic, narcotic, lysergic and melodic-melancholic sounds where they come together to create a rise in the listener's emotional intensity.

Boom! We kicked off January with a break from TANK Radio (Dry January, anyone? 😉), so you’ve been waiting a whole month for a new episode. But the wait is over! We're back with an incredible mix from the big boss of HIFI/LOFI Records, Franz Matthews. 

The Berlin-based producer has put together a killer mixtape full of deep and dark bangers including 3 unreleased tracks and remixes from himself and his label. Embark on a sonic pilgrimage into the very heart of a forgotten world. 🚇 Deep within the earth's metallic womb, where concrete gives way to endless, arching conduits of steel and wire, a lone figure stands as the silent sentinel of a future foretold. This is the world of "Subterranean Oracle," a place where the air itself thrums with a low, electric hum—a constant, driving beat that is the planet's own techno heartbeat. 🤖 The figure, cloaked in heavy, dark robes that fall like stone, is a vessel of secrets. Its face is a smooth, featureless void, a blank canvas onto which we project our own anxieties and hopes for what is to come. Is it a priest of a new technological age? An AI entity that has shed its need for human features? Or the last organic being in a world of machines? The ambiguity is the source of its power, a silent prophet in a deafeningly loud world. ⛓️

The environment is a cathedral of industry, a dystopian marvel. Rows of spherical machines, like dormant metallic eyes or gargantuan eggs waiting to hatch, line the tunnel. They are interconnected by a chaotic yet purposeful web of thick black cables, arteries pumping data and raw energy through this subterranean network. 💡 The ground is dust and grit, the only remnant of a natural world long since paved over and forgotten. The sepia-toned light is dim, suggesting a source that is neither sun nor moon, but the cold, artificial glow of the machinery itself. This is the visual landscape that our music inhabits; each track is a step deeper into this tunnel, a new revelation from the oracle. The driving 4/4 kick drums are the relentless march of progress, the raw, distorted basslines are the groans of stressed metal, and the hypnotic, looping synths are the coded messages humming through the wires. 👁️‍🗨️
