Birthed from a life of deep personal troubles and an insatiable metaphysical curiosity, Freya Astrella’s debut full length album ‘Spirals’ is an authentically spiritual yet strikingly modern musical journey of healing, empathy and wisdom.

Spirals is a soulful and experimental collection of songs dedicated to the body’s energetic centres, as defined by eastern religions as ‘chakras’, each building upon the themes of the last – exploring themes of courage, creativity, empowerment, loneliness, honesty and intuition. 

With a carefully curated sonic landscape of sound-healing and sacred instrumentation, Freya layers urban beats, funky basslines, and of course her heavy-weight voice – equally raw and professionally trained – which carries a lifetime of battle scars, rage, and hard-won freedom.  

An eternal student of life’s mysteries, Freya went far outside of the box for the album design. Freya had her voice cymatically photographed – so what you see is Freya’s voice through the medium of vibrating water.
