Almost a year ago Moisk, a duo made up of Pletnev aka Ponty Mython and Fourmï Rouz, released their debut foray on Dutch label I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul. Now they’re returning for another excursion, this time inviting you to take a ride on the Pleasure Express, a fresh new imprint springing up from Belgium. Titled 'Melancholic Raver', the EP once again showcases the pair's love of hypnotic rhythms and breakbeat patterns, matching these with acid lines and otherworldly atmospheres.

From the city of Lima comes the new episode of our podcast series, presenting SALÓ, DJ, producer, co-founder and curator of some of the most relevant projects of the underground scene of Lima, Peru such as Pistas Plásticas, SADISCO & TROCA.

He currently heads Saddo Masso and Comun Radio, a local independent radio station that seeks to contribute and promote electronic music culture. All these projects focused on different forms of electronic, experimental and avant-garde music.

You may like it or not, but Jacaranda has been all about broken and bass music so far. And it is going to stay the same in the July of 2024 too, because the new mix was recorded by Viner (but I would call it a masterpiece rather than a mix). It is a huge honor to have Viner as a guest. He is a Barcelona-based musician with a release background on Tripalium Corp and Get Busy Records.  

The mix partially contains some of Viner’s unreleased tracks and they are setting the mood for the hour of unswitchable music.

In this mix series, Andrey Lipa would like to explore broken, crumbled, and non-obvious dance music with the help of his friends. You can expect a wide-ranging journey with the primary goal of making you twitch somehow.

UK duo Yard One returns to Philipp Priebe’s Stólar this December, with a new EP full of tracks oscillating between Yard One and their Tryst alter ego, featuring Korean vocals from Vovian and Red Pig Flower and remixes from Alex Albrecht and Eli Verveine.
The ‘San-lim Yok’ EP was composed throughout the past year utilising field recordings taken through South Korean’s Busan and Seoul and came to life through a meeting of friends Yard One, Red Pig Flower and Vovian, playing on the same line up at Busan’s Output Club. After the summer of 2023 in South Korea, Yard One returned home to slowly sculpt the project into what you’re hearing today and during this process once again piqued the
interest of Stólar’s Philipp Priebe, the label naturally felt like a perfect home following Yard One’s ‘Shifting Sands’ on the imprint back in 2022.
Opener ‘Output, Until The Sun Rises…’ is a dedication to the beginning of this project, a dark and dubby journey fuelled by saturated drums, hazy atmospherics and Vovian’s hypnotic vocals. ‘Forest Bathing In Busan (San-lim Yok)’ follows next under the Tryst more ambient leaning alias, once again featuring Vovian’s mesmeric voice amongst snaking subs,
unfurling textures and organic percussion. Next up Yard One joins forces with Red Pig Flower for the deep techno tinged ‘Sky Capsule’, a subtly nuanced journey through breathy vocals from Red and intricately intertwined synth work.
‘Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line)’ then sees Tryst and Vovian dive deeper into swirling pads, bubbling tones and meditative vocals before ‘Gwangan Night Drive’ offers up broken drums, heavy doses of sub and glistening atmospherics. Australia’s Alex Albrecht of Albrecht La’Brooy then adds his unique twist to ‘Forest Bathing In Busan’ before Eli Veveine concludes the release with her dynamic dance floor focused twist on
‘Haeundae Beach (The End Of The Line)’, fragmenting the original’s ambient aesthetic into a twisted peak time groove.

Benedikt Frey is many. Or just one? He is a composer. An arranger. A DJ. A ghost producer. A fan. He plays in bands like INIT, or Dolphins or KEYS +++ produced the last two albums for Chris Imler. Downbeat in experimental dub zones. The goat for Edits and remixes. When house was his nation, he used to listen to pen names like Suedmilch or Venedikt Reyf. He still likes the music formed under their umbrella, but today his tomorrow is not echoed in yesterday. His sound signature moved on. Into the open. He founded labels like R.i.O. or Serious Trouble. 

He lives in Berlin. Physically. In mind Benedikt Frey is at many places. Traveling far thru his home studio that is a flat a studio a flat an instrument a record collection a flat a studio. Everywhere gear, vinyl, tapes, instruments, rooms for spontaneous sonic notions, these moments, when a sudden strike of stimulation falls. He is inspired a lot. For music to dance. Music for films. Music for live shows. Music for dancing glows. Techno, house, downbeat, ambient, jungle, electronics outside the norms. Those transportive ones. Jamming with others. Jamming with his mind. In Berlin Wedding, North of the town, where the lights dimmed low, neighbors share the flow, and a small river runs slow.  As a DJ he plays here, there, everywhere. Big clubs, small shacks, festivals, gatherings. From fast to 90 BPM - as he feels. 

For himself. For the crowd. In the spur. He still remembers his club kid days. Going to dance with friends. Down there in Offenbach. Doing the Robert Johnson. Collective emotions for a better tomorrow. These he still seeks. In his music. His shows. His collaborations. You can book him for a party. For enlightenment. For ecstasy or introspective perspectives. Dancing slow, whilst pirouetting a high-pitched show. 

Since more than a decade. His own music is out there, too. Bringing his spirits in sound. On his own labels. On international imprints like ESP Institute, Hivern Discs, Craigie Knowes, or Emotional Response. Solo works. Driving ones. Slow drills. Teased during his DJ dates around the planet. 

The music plays day and night. Inspiration comes. From a simple kick drum. A movie sequence. A bird on the sill. A picture, totally still. Can’t kick that feeling when it hits. Benedikt Frey. In dreams. In streams. In music. Emotions. Situations. At night. In those flashy lights, when it bites.
