The original version was created by Nick & myself, Autumn 2017, using various Roland, Dave Smith, Doepfer hardware, plus additional live percussion.

Side B: Forgotten Corner - Prosthetic Limbo (Cassini Division remix)
Cassini Division is Kyle Martin’s solo project. His previous remix on forg002 still sounds timeless, so we asked him to remix forg004. Kyle agreed and delivered a monster of a spacious hypnotic slow techno re-imagination!.

Kyle took all of the different elements & put each of them through his modular system & homemade modular fx, he then merged them with some other tones and percussive sounds that he created on his Macbeth synth, re-pitching the sounds to lower the frequencies & then adding various spring reverb
fx to create the spacious immersive atmosphere. The end result is a total trip... turn up loud, close your eyes....repeat!.

"Benedikt Frey and Naia d’Alò's Init project received great initial praise through two well conceived pieces for John Talabot's Hivern disco back in 2015. Now the pair are back on Les Disques De La Mort with a four track EP rich with their moody techno delights.

"Stereometric" sees a swollen electric base gently plume as ghostly vox and slowly eroding artefacts are scattered through the mix; landing somewhere between Bay Area minimal wave and the taut techno meanderings of Marcel Dettman. 

"Nuts" is an anthemic slice of darkwave electro; tense, a little bit menacing and cinematic as hell - conjuring images of late night mutant car chases through guttural cityscapes. 

"Wheels" sees us dive down smacked-out electro-post-punk rabbit hole; landing in a drug stained bedsit around Hulme Crescents circa '89 with next doors party still in full swing two days since it began. 

"Mindwork" invites said neighboring crusties to an all-night post-Goa-trance rave up on some moonlit beach and populated by shady drug dealers and Mad Max type characters all locked into its full-throttle stomp. "

As excitement builds for this year's Convenanza Festival, the event curated by Bernie Fabre and Andrew Weatherall, Höga Nord get set to release a compilation celebrating the artists performing at this years . Among the performers are Komodo Kolektif.  Having been featured on Weatherall's NTS show Music's not for Everyone the Glasgow collective are heading out to Carcasonne to woo the crowds with their unique brand of Cosmic live instrumentation and no doubt the centrepiece will be Daratan Ceremony, a track which straddles the line between Etnofunk and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Tabla sounding drums underpin distorted wind chimes, growling thick bass in a track which in another dimension would be the theme for a warped wildlife documentary series about humans, no doubt being watched by ants or some other dominant technologically advanced species.  Members of the band have released solo on Optimo and Invisible, Inc. and along with several other sometime members have melded live instrumentation with machinery musically in the same way that body horror director David Kronenburg has on film.
Höga Nord's association with Andrew Weatherall continues to be fruitful with this fantastic sampler heading into the weirder and slightly more Cosmic edges of electronic music.

Benedikt Frey is many. Or just one? He is a composer. An arranger. A DJ. A ghost producer. A fan. He plays in bands like INIT, or Dolphins or KEYS +++ produced the last two albums for Chris Imler. Downbeat in experimental dub zones. The goat for Edits and remixes. When house was his nation, he used to listen to pen names like Suedmilch or Venedikt Reyf. He still likes the music formed under their umbrella, but today his tomorrow is not echoed in yesterday. His sound signature moved on. Into the open. He founded labels like R.i.O. or Serious Trouble. 

He lives in Berlin. Physically. In mind Benedikt Frey is at many places. Traveling far thru his home studio that is a flat a studio a flat an instrument a record collection a flat a studio. Everywhere gear, vinyl, tapes, instruments, rooms for spontaneous sonic notions, these moments, when a sudden strike of stimulation falls. He is inspired a lot. For music to dance. Music for films. Music for live shows. Music for dancing glows. Techno, house, downbeat, ambient, jungle, electronics outside the norms. Those transportive ones. Jamming with others. Jamming with his mind. In Berlin Wedding, North of the town, where the lights dimmed low, neighbors share the flow, and a small river runs slow.  As a DJ he plays here, there, everywhere. Big clubs, small shacks, festivals, gatherings. From fast to 90 BPM - as he feels. 

For himself. For the crowd. In the spur. He still remembers his club kid days. Going to dance with friends. Down there in Offenbach. Doing the Robert Johnson. Collective emotions for a better tomorrow. These he still seeks. In his music. His shows. His collaborations. You can book him for a party. For enlightenment. For ecstasy or introspective perspectives. Dancing slow, whilst pirouetting a high-pitched show. 

Since more than a decade. His own music is out there, too. Bringing his spirits in sound. On his own labels. On international imprints like ESP Institute, Hivern Discs, Craigie Knowes, or Emotional Response. Solo works. Driving ones. Slow drills. Teased during his DJ dates around the planet. 

The music plays day and night. Inspiration comes. From a simple kick drum. A movie sequence. A bird on the sill. A picture, totally still. Can’t kick that feeling when it hits. Benedikt Frey. In dreams. In streams. In music. Emotions. Situations. At night. In those flashy lights, when it bites.
