"Something for the Souls" by The Regular Expressions, in our second EP 'Insecurity'. 

The first original done by The Regular Expressions many many years ago. And we opted to stick to something more middle-of-road. The lead guitar part was done when I didn't have any knowledge and regards for chord tones, which probably sticks out a little bit. The band had a recording where the instrumental part near the end was quite emotive, but i couldn't capture it in the home studio - so i did the best i could without butchering the piece.

From 'Insecurity' EP

This song is a rework of 'Stay' (https://soundcloud.com/freymunch/stay) from the 'Songs for Frey' EP. This song imagines the last jamming session we have for a dear friend who left. We didn't want him to go, he didn't want to go either. This new rendition attempts to capture elements of 2010-ish indie movement, and my first foray into synthesized instruments.

I'm a singer-songwriter from Singapore, and the guitarist from The Regular Expressions. I'm writing and recording songs in my spare time because I feel that it is important to capture these fleeting emotions and thoughts at different points in my life, and crystallize it into a neat 4 minutes song. If I don't, they are forever lost (and that is terrible isn't it?)

The chief influences of my music taste are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Blur, Pulp, The Smiths, Radiohead, Interpol, The Strokes, The Horrors and of course, The Arctic Monkeys. Favorite local (Singapore) bands are Humpback Oak and The Great Spy Experiment. 

I want to write more songs about the sights, sounds, and soul of Singapore. Do let me know if you want to collaborate on some songs!
