"The term "accolade" is defined as an award or privilege granted as a special acknowledgment of merit. With this EP, Gladkill expresses that there are few actual accolades earned through independently creating and sharing art in this fast-paced digital society and over-saturated musical market. An artist must create his or her own rewards, with every release, song, and project becoming an accolade in itself; a milestone of one's catharsis, progression and accomplishment.
While staying true to his melodic and musical roots, Gladkill seamlessly traverses through Bass music, beats, hip hop and trap influences, R&B, deep house, garage, 2 step and downtempo to create a diverse collection of six new songs.
From the kinetic purple anthem of "Ether", to the dance floor stylings of the title track "Accolades", to his blending of space bass and future trap sounds in "Velvet" and beyond—every song serves as a testament to Gladkill's intricate composition, careful attention to detail and passion for his projects, leaving no part of his musical spectrum unexplored. ​"

Joe Wendt, better known as jOBOT is a talented and original producer out of Los Angeles and an integral part of the Headtron collective. Playing upright bass since the age of 12 and mastering the styles of jazz funk and soul, jOBOT is constantly pushing his sound forward while evolving musically to previously unimagined dimensions. His tracks span a variety of different genres- anything from dream-like downtempo to funk, electro soul and breaks to epic melodic future bass tunes. he fuses an immense breadth and depth of listening and training with funk-fueled bass playing, smooth vocals, and an ineffable balls-out, experimental, and creative spirit that “jOBOT” encompasses.  His track "Too Much" is a vibey House-influenced take on a classic Luther Vandross classic. In an effort to advance the pair's "future soul" pursuit, Noah Marion and Harrison Watkins today gift "Montego Breeze" to the masses. Proper Motion, a production duo out of Boulder, CO keeps one foot planted in the past, and the other pointing forward, as contemporary beats blend effortlessly with throwback stylings.

Proper Motion will be playing the SOULS RISING stage at ARISE Music Festival, August 8-10 at Sunrise Valley Ranch in Loveland, CO. The stage is a joint between The Untz and the artist collective Souls In Action, of which Proper Motion counts itself a member.

It’s a commendable ethos for a constantly evolving electronic music scene, to avoid any specific genre or trend & stand alone with a unique sound. The Salt Lake City pair do exactly this with the ‘4am’ EP, a 5 track collection that displays the versatile yet cohesive sound X&G have to offer. 

From the very first track, the EP feels like a lucid dream, influenced by a wild variety of sounds, maneuvering with ease from the eccentric ‘MAUB’ & ‘Mancha’ through to ‘Home’, a hypnotizing composition with vocals from the talented Kida.

Coolwater (aka Far East Movement & Autolaser) - Up To No Good (ft. Adrian Delgado) [Free Download]

ill-esha has been a flourishing multi-talented artist, taking the world by storm from her early adventures in drum n’ bass to being a key figure in the glitch hop movement and to the recent era of future bass exploration. What has always been consistent in her music, is the soul and passion the breathes life into the beats. Her career has seen releases on labels such as Dub Police, Muti Music, Sound Plexus, and Street Ritual - and now ill-esha’s 4th full length album, Hyperbolic Space Crochet, will see the light from Philadelphia based label Seclusiasis.

Hyperbolic Space Crochet is packed full of her signature melodic and bassy vibes yet we certainly hear a further evolution of sound from the Colorado based producer, DJ and singer. Theres a great loose jazzyness that permeates the album and one the subtle elements that ties it all together. The opening track “Climbing Jacob’s Ladder” is reminiscent of purple grime sounds and grabs the listener, demanding attention right out the gate. The LPs many highlights include “Dreamtime” with its lush drifting and emotional ride, “Finding Beauty in Frustration” which is driven by funky percussion and punctuated by sultry vocals. The title cut has uplifting raving stabs and a beat that you can’t help but nod your head to. The album comes to a close with “20/20” a moody offering that drips with heartache and serves as the most vocal oriented song on the album.
