2020 Playback - was 1 Jahr

Here it is - the live-cut of my morning set on the brand new 'Theater' floor at Mensch Meier. When I got there in the morning, I was really blown away by the beauty of probably one of the most stunning floors I've ever played on, with the most crisp sound. Fresh sun rays shooting right across the room, wrapping everyone up in a warm morning coziness, providing all dancers with new energy to continue moving. And so it happened that, after a rather calm tribute to peace in my intro (in particular with respect to the current situation in Ukraine 🇺🇦), I quickly picked up more and more driving energy during the set and it partly ended up being a wild journey, with a smoother comedown in the end. Thank you all for your dancing vibes - you really got me going that morning!! 

I think from the imperfection in parts of the mix, you can probably tell when people were coming up to say hi, I was exchanging smiles and kisses with friends, or when I was just so much soaked by the atmosphere of the moment that I got distracted here and there. But that's what playing live is all about - FEELING the magic that is happening around you and being present in the very moment. And I am very thankful for being able to experience this again.

Big shoutout to the @ramschakl crew for creating this magical space and for letting me be part of it. And to all friends who came along for my belated birthday Sektfrühstück. What a gift!

Soooooooo, here it is: my 4h Katerset. What a freaking milestone. At somepoint in the middle of the set I looked around and realised what was really happening around me. People dancing, yelling, hugging each other, kissing - everything to my musicselection and at this crazy location. @kater_blau, the place so many storys are told about. I guess you could've read it of my face, how overwhelmed I was. I just had this biiiiiiig grin on my face looking like a very happy Honigkuchenpferd. 

Again thanks to all the dancers who made this experience so unique. And of course thanks to the booking  and the people working at Kater for making my stay so enojoyable. So, I hear the upload of a @kater_blau -Debut often comes with a bit of a background story. So, here’s mine and be aware, it's going to be kick-you-in the-crotch-spit-you-in-the-neck soppy-sentimental: 

If someone had told me two years ago that I would play a show at my favourite nightclub in Berlin, I’d probably have declared them to be out of their mind. When the big night had finally come, I felt like embarking upon one of the scariest dares in my life. However, I miraculously managed to put all of my anxieties into a box right before the show, and instead enjoyed playing it tremendously - smiling, singing & dancing with everyone else. 

Of course, it went far from perfect. After my set, I realised that I had accidentally stopped the recording somewhere in the middle without even noticing, - probably with one of my clumsy dance moves. 😅 But I sure had a blast. In an attempt to recreate the magic, I recorded the set again, hoping, you'll still enjoy listening to it.

1000 times THANKS to some of my oldest & newest friends for the support that night. But above all, CHEERS to the best crowd I could've imagined! This was the best early birthday present EVER & I can't wait to be back! 💜

P.S.: Big thanks to @ueberhaupt_ausserdem for helping me with the mastering & for creating this well-tempered listening experience! 
Also, thanks to my lovely friends & team mates, who couldn't be there, but shared some soothing words with me before the gig & my excitement after - I'm so lucky to have you!!!

Malka Tuti in collaboration with the italian imprint Roccodisco, and label bosses Ed Rodion and Hugo Sanchez bring forth "Perfidia". Ed and Hugo (aka Alien Alien) are no strangers to pitched down sexy dancefloor tunes. With previous releases on Slow Motion records they've made a name for themselves as sexy bastards. With Perfidia they present the vocalist Igino, a friend from home, Rome. Together they've boiled a slow burning, constantly evolving song for the late late hours. Strong Kick, deep low frequencies and those vocals lay the foundations for a true K-Pop hit. On the remix for the A-side Malka Tuti present a collaboration of two disco legends Ray Mang and Severino Panzetta (oh Horse Meat Disco), that add a Mediterranean flavor to the original tune, easing things up... On the b-side we have another slow burner with "Bella l'Estate", joined by a top remix by Tel Avivian prodigy Naduve to conclude your go to "hit of the summer package".

Damit die Fusion 2019 gerade in diesem Moment stattfinden kann,  musste der Kulturkosmos und auch wir alle ganz schön kämpfen. Doch für „Die Freiheit der Kunst“ lohnt es sich einmal mehr aufzustehen und seine Stimme zu erheben … denn wir wollen uns unsere Kunst und Utopien nicht wegnehmen lassen.

Den Termin für diesen Podcast haben wir schon länger ausgemacht und er ist ganz zufällig auf den Fusion Termin gefallen. Als Frida und Judith mir dann den Mix geschickt haben, meinten sie „Da er zur Fusion raus kommt, haben wir uns ne kleine Sache überlegt und so eine Art "Fusion Special" gemacht (mit kleinen Pressekonferenz schnipseln am Anfang und Ende).“ Und weil die Fusion 2019 schon jetzt etwas ganz spezielles ist … wurde es auch hier ein Special. This is the set I played thursday night 11.30 - 03.00 at Fusion Festival, Sonnendeck. It was definatley a crazy night, and an incredible experience. I'm still overwhelmed by this big crowd and dancing jellyfishes. Thanks so much for everything. Thank you 3000Grad for having me! Thanks to my crew who supported me in my little princesstower the whole time!
I hope all of you had a really nice weekend, too. Wether at Fusion or in bed, hopefully with love. 

Unfortunately I had to make a little cut in the set at the end cause I pressed the cue button once - probably because I got really excited as the stage manager told me I have to play longer cause the next DJ did not show up. Upsi!
