Hard Techno

Janicka doesn't like to limit herself with genre frames. Closest to her heart is broadly understood techno, especially hardgroove, but also progressive and tribal sounds. She plays based on the principle of diversity and the right level of energy and intensity. She likes to play around with tunes from the 90s and 2000s and she weaves occasional trance or deep house into her sets. What's also important to her is to play music created by women. She made her debut in 2021 at an event by Instytut, "Techno is a woman" and you can regularly hear her sets in radio Kampus. She also joined the "Middle of Summer" line-up organized by Kombinat.

When I started my DJ journey I knew that aside from my own craftsmanship of sound, my stage name would represent me the most. So when it came down to choosing one I wanted to make sure that my roots were planted firmly in the origin of my name. The spanish word Marcapasos derives from the idea of being the pacesetter of the crowd I’m playing infront of, wether I’m throwing down some hard groove or as I like to call it…heavy rotations or setting the vibes on a rooftop poolside with some house tunes as your pacesetter, I am sure to uplift the energy and create a distinctive sound that you’ll be sure to remember and recognize the next time you hear it and say… that has to be “Marcapasos”.
