Feet bleeding, skin torn to bone

back in the time 
they were worshipped and feared 
had their statues in temples and shrines 
on the walls of the caves their figures were drawn 
with the blood of their sacrifiсe

the mortals back then 
would give all they had 
immolate so the gods would send rain 
but these gods are now weak 
their attempts to reach out are vain 

all disciples are dead 
temples forlorn 
shamans and priests long gone 
with the names they were called, 
in whispers and screams .. from dusk till dawn

It’s not meat or sweet fruits 
not honeydew 
it’s our prayers and pleas they feed on 
but some legends erased 
and being noone they get none 

It's been thousands of years 
Millions of miles 
Counting numerous faces 
The hunger of gods is eating them up
