I wrote this one based off a riff I will be using again. It's been in my head since like october 2015 and it's supposed to be used in an entirely different way than how it ended up. Oh well. Enjoy. It's all very sloppy but fun. WEEEIRD.

Invasion - 2

The design is relatively simple. It achieves the task it was designed for, which is to be a backing track for a university drumming exam. It's not really intended for listening and it's exceptionally simple. 

I started out with only the idea to pop a clock on and play along to that but lo and behold I had to make it utterly terrifying. 

The concept is simple time. Literally was an idea because I like to count in 3's rather than 4's. Poly-rhythmic. So there is no set count, it's about freedom of style and play. 

I got a bit hooked on the concept and starting thinking about what time actually does to a mind as it grows old. Became a bit of a demented reflection on life.

A Metroidvania styled backing track written for my MA Music portfolio. Imagine your crawling through a mausoleum styled dungeon. The track is mostly built around thoughts of exploration rather than combat.
