Italian producer Piero Pirupa’s musical CV is nothing short of impressive. So it’s no surprise that his next production has found a home on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, enlisting the vocal talents of New York’s Mr.V.

Influenced by the sounds of 80s and 90s Chicago, ​Pirupa worked tirelessly on this EP to reach a version he was happy with. After seeing the reaction from dancefloors around the world, he decided to send it to Carl Cox and Damian Lazarus. Pirupa explains: “Since the day I sent it they have never stopped playing it in all their sets. I’m very excited. It’s a very special track for me.”

We Must Be (The Piano Track) breathes new life into today’s dance music with a message from a bygone era. It harks back to the golden age of house music with its lush piano topline and positive message sung by Mr.V. Happiness simply emanates from this production. With lyrics such as “we must be all in this together, we must live to respect one another” and “this is the plan to make us unified” it takes clubbing back to a time when everyone came together on the dancefloor regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or religion.

Pirupa’s rise to the top has been relentless. He’s built a solid reputation in the industry releasing on respected labels such as Drumcode, Desolat, Relief, Elrow Music and Saved Records, as well as his own label NONSTOP, which was awarded the accolade of being one of Beatport’s Breakthrough Underground labels in 2015. He’s been billed alongside heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Pete Tong, Marco Carola, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, Nic Fanciulli and John Digweed. Pirupa’s production talents have seen him remix for the likes of Jamiroquai, Junior Jack and Sharam.

Fresh off the release of their acclaimed record Constellate on Tokyo Dawn Records, Chicago’s production powerhouse, Tensei joins forces with the soulful dynamo that is Georgia Anne Muldrow (Brainfeeder, Stones Throw, SomeOthaShip) to self-release the feel-good jam “Walk It Out.” 

The record features contributions from emerging spiritual jazz stalwarts Greg Spero (Halsey, Makaya McCraven), Brandon Meeks, and Kafele. Timed appropriately for the late spring, early summer flowering period in nature, Walk It Out is a danceable invitation to release your pent up energy, rather than letting it fester.

The single will be a Bandcamp feature from May 15, 2019 to May 20, 2019 (with corresponding editorial). On May 20, 2019, the song will be released ton all other platforms. Along with the main vocal version, Tensei is also releasing instrumental variation along with two exclusive remixes, one by Tokyo Dawn labelmate  Inkswel featuring John Robinson (Scienz of Life), and a second remix from the extraordinary Kenny Keys.

26th July 2019 sees the unstoppable UK-based house duo CamelPhat team up Snatch! Records’ head honcho Riva Starr and America’s esteemed spoken word recording artist Ursula Rucker to deliver their stunning debut collaboration EP, Crystal Clear.

This essential 2 track release continues Snatch!’s fine form and follows stellar releases from the likes of Parris Mitchell, Nina Kraviz, Mark Broom, Arthur Baker, Green Velvet, Groove Armada, Solardo and, of course, Riva Starr amongst many others.

The EP’s title track ‘Crystal Clear’ gets things underway, serving up a future deep house anthem encompassing a lush filtered chord pattern, an effective 4/4 groove and an emotive spoken vocal from the legendary Ursula Rucker stating ‘stay high, even when I fall’ – expect
to hear this destroying dancefloors all over Europe and beyond this summer!

‘Electricity’ is next up and concludes the release by continuing the housey vibes, taking the listener on an intense synth-driven workout featuring a distinctive whispered vocal by Mikey V, powerful drum programming, striking sound effects and a manipulated synthline which
runs throughout.
