All samples were created and recorded, direct from my vast hardware based studio and recorded from my exclusive vinyl and CD collection, from back in the day.  The samples are all presented in their full length and at 24bit/44.1khz quality.

Back in 2001, every Saturday night, myself and a good friend DJ Virus (https://soundcloud.com/adamdjvirus), used to fool in the studio I had in my moms basement.  This was a hardware based studio back in the day and all this was done while we ate our traditional spicy spaghetti!  Think spaghetti with a whole bag of chili powder added into the sauce!  Damn that was hot stuff!!

At the time this track was finished, Luna-C of Kniteforce was asking for track submissions, for a possible release on the label, which was going to focus on the older sounds, once again.  This track, along with 2 others, was recorded onto tape and mailed out to Lunca-C for evaluation.  I never did think anything would come of it, but Chris did email me telling me he appreciated my submission, did give a full listen to all my tracks and said he really liked what he heard, however, the sound was 'too old' in terms of what he was looking for.  He said if these were given to him back in the day, he certainly would have passed them off to Seduction for evalution for his Impact label.  This was great to hear, as Seduction and the Impact label was among my favourites, for the 92 sound!

Needless to say, this stuff got shelved after this and nothing was ever done with it.  I have come across the DAT and ripped it, so am putting it up here, presented in all its rough around the edges glory!  No mastering was done at all and this was mixed from the outputs of my sampler, directly through my Mackie desk I had at the time.

Fringe - You Got Me (36 Hertz) being played by GLOWKiD on the GenerationX Radio Show - Nov. 15 2016

Released as part of a two track EP, on 36 Hertz Recordings (36HTZ069).  

Remembering back to the early 90's, when like many others, I was just discovering the sounds of Jungle, I remember how fresh, innovative and exciting it was to listen to and just how easy it was to fall in love with.  Before the music became mainstream, the only way to really get a hold of any, (outside of the record shops on vinyl), was through mixtape recordings of the past weekends raves, or by the illegal broadcasting of various stations, such as Kool FM, Kiss FM, Rush FM etc.  Pirate radio stations were starting to crop up and the sounds of jungle were breaking through to all who cared to want to get involved with it.  That was the idea behind this track.  A summers night in 92/93.  A local station in London would be playing the underground sounds of hardcore jungle and as a means to get it 'heard by everyone', the junglist at heart would place their 'speakers on the window ledge' of their bedroom and face it out into the streets, for all to enjoy, regardless of what anyone thought of them, or had to say about it!

Released as part of a two track EP, on 36 Hertz Recordings (36HTZ069).  

Meant to be an homage to the early sounds of Reinforced/Tom & Jerry.  Reinforced was such a prolific label and regarded by many, as one of the pioneering labels of the hardcore jungle scene, throughout the early 90s.  The label knew no boundaries and constantly pushed the envelope forward in experimental and explorative ways.  The tracks had a distinct sound to them, unlike what was heard on any other label at the time.  Every track was filled with 'soul' and 'life' and just made you feel good to listen to them.  This was the inspiration behind this track, to instill that same 'feel good vibe' and hopefully with the same 'soul' and 'magic' found on those early Reinforced and Tom & Jerry releases, way back when.  Did I hit the mark?  Well... that is for you to decide, but I hope it to be enjoyed for what it is, none the less.

A few months back, Ed approached me with the idea to do a collaboration on a tune together.  I had never done one before, so was concerned about how it would all work and whether the tune would actually come out in the end.  I didn't think I would have anything valuable to add to his already solid starting of the track, but  despite my reservations, he was keen to try it out, so I obliged and gave it my all and together, we came up with this! 

It certainly was a different way to work.  I learned a lot during the process and there are things I would do differently, should I ever have the opportunity to work on a collab again, but it was such an honour to have the opportunity to take part in the creation of this track and I can't thank Ed enough for putting his trust in me to do so and for all his patience in dealing with me, as I know I am not easy to work with.  

Massive respects to you my friend and to Simon at 7th Storey Projects, for picking the track up for release on the mighty Globex Corp vinyl series!
