written, produced and mixed by Nick Mackrory & Phil Banks
The original version was created by Nick & myself, Autumn 2017, using various Roland, Dave Smith, Doepfer hardware, plus additional live percussion.

Side B: Forgotten Corner - Prosthetic Limbo (Cassini Division remix)
Cassini Division is Kyle Martin’s solo project. His previous remix on forg002 still sounds timeless, so we asked him to remix forg004. Kyle agreed and delivered a monster of a spacious hypnotic slow techno re-imagination!.

Kyle took all of the different elements & put each of them through his modular system & homemade modular fx, he then merged them with some other tones and percussive sounds that he created on his Macbeth synth, re-pitching the sounds to lower the frequencies & then adding various spring reverb
fx to create the spacious immersive atmosphere. The end result is a total trip... turn up loud, close your eyes....repeat!.

Dirk Desaever - Collected 1984 - 1989 (EXTENDED PLAY)
Side A is a reissue of the highly sought after Disdain EP from 1988 by White House White. While it’s the most straightforward New Beat / EBM section of this Collected, Desaever’s sense of dramaturgy, his sound design, rhythmic patterns and use of film samples create a dark and mysterious ambiance at odds with the smiley atmosphere prevalent in most contemporary New Beat productions with infectious grooves focused on setting bodies in motion. 

On Side B, three previously unreleased tracks in a similar spirit to WHW’s sound with a dark and sleazy atmosphere, elegant arrangements that sound of an almost baroque persuasion, mysterious film samples and dance-inducing rhythmic sections that range from 104 to 108 BPM.

DIRK DESAEVER'S COLLECTED 1984 - 1989: A THREE FORMAT RELEASE ON MUSIQUE POUR LA DANSE.
Musique Pour La Danse is thrilled to present its latest “Collected” anthology, the label’s most ambitious release since it released an extensive anthology of music produced by New Beat pioneer Ro Maron back in 2015. 

This time label managers Olivier Ducret (Muriaux, CH) and Ed Isar (Paris, FR) have focused on another essential Belgian producer: Dirk Desaever, the man behind White House White, A Thunder Orchestra and Danton’s Voice. Rare and sought after, his records fetch high prices among collectors. Some of his productions under these aliases have appeared in crucial compilations such The Sound of Belgium series as well as Walhalla’s Underground Wave, along with edits by Mick Wills for Biorythm and Marcel Dettman for Dekmantel. 

What was initially supposed to be a simple reissue affair soon turned into a much wider project, as Desaever shared heaps of amazing unreleased material with the label. It seemed much more interesting to shed light on the dark side of this producer’s body of work, rather than to focus on content already reissued elsewhere. 

After listening to noisy tape rips over and over, Ducret & Isar opted to break this release down in three formats (EP, LP distributed via NEWS and a cassette sold by the label direct), each one with different content. They entrusted sound engineer Lorenzo Targhetta with remastering the music and it’s impressive how much he managed to polish the sound without altering the unmistakable grain of music committed to cassette tape.

This world ,..  belongs to the strong, my friend! The ritual of our existence is based on the strong getting stronger by devouring the weak. We must face up to this. No more than right that it should be this way. We must learn to accept it as a law of the natural world. The rabbits accept their role in the ritual and recognize the wolf is the strong. In defense, the rabbit becomes sly and frightened and elusive and he digs holes and hides when the wolf is about. And he endures, he goes on. He knows his place. He most certainly doesn't challenge the wolf to combat. Now, would that be wise? Would it?

The clouds pile up in the Dresden autumn sky, but Uncanny Valley still sees a little bit of blue on the horizon. And why not looking on the bright side of life for a change? It’s appropriate. At least if you have five killer tracks in your bag. Anyway, the collaboration with the Leipzig graphic designer Doppeldenk proved to be very fruitful and has now produced the fourth of seven children. So, after PINK, RED and ORANGE, here is BLUE. May life be good to you.
Our pick up from this stunning compilation is a fresh breeze blows around your nose. In Brecht Hat Er, the mysterious Dresden underground formation AGB spreads wisdom in staccato mode, accompanied by Cold Wave-like music, which could also have been created in the shadows of the Berlin Wall.
