Reprising his long and fruitful association with Poker Flat, Martin Landsky - elder statesmen and bona fide legend of Berlin's club scene - serves up another superb EP that is more than ample testimony to de- cades of experience in production and be- hind the decks at virtually every noteworthy club or festival you might care to name.

Right from the off, 'Da Geh Bo' hits the sweet spot with its booming bass, precisi- on percussion and spacious production va- lues. This is big, bold, upfront tech house garnished with imagination - not least the cut-up vocalizations that zip and echo in the mix.

'Under The Bridge' is equally ballsy, its re- petitive stabs demonstrating Landsky's in- nate understanding for what moves people in both body and mind. Synth drones sweep above you like searchlights over Gotham, soaring up towards a textbook climax.

Rounding things off, the House Mix of the title track marries a hard-hitting kick to a nebula of reverberating synth: a foundation for a swinging, swaying and utterly super- smooth groove.

Quickly following up the last, instant sell-out smash, Shir Khan's infamous "Black Jukebox" series hit us with the 12th edition. Introducing anonymous project Aussteiger who gets things bouncing with the Summer house monster, "Bangbao". Lush filter sweeps, twinkling keys and powerful bass are order of the day here as the producer works his magic on one of the sunniest grooves we've heard this year. "Return" keeps that outdoor terrace flavour but plunges us deep into the twilight, tribal drums and deep electronics locking us into its hypnotic recess. Martin Lewis contributes a seriously fun and summery version of "Now That We Found Love", utilizing glorious xylophones and horns throughout the melody and letting it roll out with aplomb. Finally, we get the cheeky "Do It" edit which combines hypnotic congas with funky guitar licks and a sun-burnt, Latin energy to create a sizzling brew of hot dancefloor energy. Great stuff! Martin Lewis - Do It | Exploited

Neovinyl strikes back with Suaave. There's something promptly upcoming about this young producer who is raising his head above the parapet of underground music. He makes the most of his talent on this new work, crafting a quick-fire, soulful-packed dancefloor assault. Lads, Urban Section is here!

Acapulco '88 is a vogue piano house track that is reminiscent of the 80's, a big tourist city such as Acapulco, Mexico or Miami comes to mind, to be exactly somewhere between Scarface and Spring Break. On the other hand Cobble, Rain and Shadows is a mysterious, fluffy tune going around in dark house circles.

The release is brought to a great close with the remixes of Sello and Baldo. A family affair, solved with two outstanding reworks.

Time flies.  Sek returns to Lost My Dog after what just feels like a couple of months, but it is actually a year since his Prime Cuts compilation and two years since his last EP for the label.

Those who are already aware of Sek’s work will know what an accomplished producer Dimitris Kesses truly is.  Once again this record delivers everything from deep, driving grooves that wear their influences on their sleeves, through to twisted, jacking trax, while the familiar snapping, techno-inspired percussion helps bring energy and an additional punch.

More than “just” a DJ/Producer, Sek is a multi-instrumentalist who describes his music as, “a blend of deep and tech house, always with a raw and abstract sensation/perspective, the dominant ingredients of my life.”

In recent years, the Greek DJ and producer has become one of the regular contributors at Lost My Dog with 13 original tracks.  ‘Mirror Mirror On The Wall’ takes that tally to 17 and will be his last for LMD as the label have decided to call it a day after 10 years.

As is often the case when putting a Sek EP together, the four tracks included on ‘Mirror Mirror On The Wall’ are the final outcome of lengthy debates over multiple demos, mixdown revisions and rearranged track orders.  All of which is testament to the passion and perfectionist approach that Sek brings to every project.
